I think a gated S300 in place of the current ihi would work well for James. Throw a shaft speed gauge on it and see what happens.

If only the Duramax Tuner Stealth 67 that was essentially an S467 shoe-horned into an IHI housing didn't suck :(

It would definitely be better than the IHI, I just see it being turned up more once it’s on 😀

People really sleep on the small turbine S300s. They're not intended to make gobs of power but their response is insane. That's why I'm hoping the gated housing allows me to spray it and not send the compressor wheel into the intercooler haha.
From running the S300 (362/68)on a 8.3L Cummins, there isn't much adjustment to lower the boost point much below 40psi. You'll have to make a longer female part to lower spring tension to open sooner.

I plan on running a spring gate OR a Turbosmart actuator that I can change spring pressures on.

I know. I do not plan on using that actuator. Stainless Diesel makes a spring-loaded actuator and Turbosmart makes an actuator that you can easily swap springs on. They both work with the Borg gated housing.
That's good to know, might get that and put a 362/68 back on vs the 362/73, as the engine starts to choke out about 10-15psi
