factory remote is having a hard time unlocking my doors now, just started today and both remotes are affected!!!! The locking feature works fine:confused: I figured I better not use it till I get this figured out, where do i start looking, if i accidentally use the remote to lock the door and cant unlock it with the remote, it sets the factory alarm/and wont let the truck start (I think)

Anybody else ever have this happen, what is the fix

If you lock it with GM remote door lock, you can unlock it with a key and it will disable the alarm and you will still be able to start the truck.

However, if you crawl through a window and open the door from the inside or try to start it, the alarm will go off.

I have never tried that. I know on my 98 T/A it would set the alarm until you put the key in the ignition.

Mine does the same thing Larry. Changing the batteries doesn't seem to help either. I have an aftermarket remote with the remote start but it uses the factory alarm and it does the same thing.

Not sure if its a lubrication or solinoid issue Larry but ya, your truck will still start with the key it with just panic the horn until you turn it on. (on some vehicles you have to cycle the key a couple to 5 times) Hope this helps. Definately try pulling the panel and greasing the rods, I know up north here it gets harder as the temp drops below -30

These guys are right, i believe its a lubrication issue.

My wifes tahoe drivers door did the same thing.

i took off the door panel and used silicone spray on what i couldnt reach and white lithium grease on the rod guards i could reach.

Good luck.

I'm not sure if Larry's is doing the same but it won't even try to unlock somethimes. Its like it isn't even recieving the signal. Lights won't flash or any thing

funny, mine's been doing the same lately. Up close I sometimes have to hit the unlock button a few times. Almost like the key fob isn't sending a signal, relatively new batteries too.

Exactly what mines doing, last nite I managed to get it to work one time, this morning it worked several times, but the last few times today it hasnt worked, no lights or anything, seems like the signal is lost. It does this with both remotes, so I dont think new battery's will help.

Heres one guys.... bosses 1500HD.

Rear doors wont lock when you hit the lock button. They have to be locked manually. It blows a fuse under the hood.

Think this could be an issue with lubrication as its putting too much strain on the actuator motor and blowing the fuse, or something else?

New batteries don't help mine. I got a new fob with the remote start and it does the same thing so I think it is something with the truck itself.

Maybe yours hasn't gotten bad enough yet, mine works about the same whether I'm locking or unlocking. I have to hit it several times before it will finally kick in and work.
