Try this guys. Sit inside the cab and close the door. Put your hand on the lock itself. Just enough to feel if it tries to move. Hit the button on your remote. If it feels like it's trying to move but doesn't. And believe me you can tell. You will feel a slight bump when it tries. Lube it and see if that helps. If it does even bump a little bit. Then under the dash there is a relay box. The relay for you locks is in there. Try swapping it out with one of the other relays in there. See if that helps. It worked for me on my 03' 1500HD that I had that was doing the same thing. It's always good to take it out and lube it once in awhile.:D But it's another one of GM's faulty systems. Hope this helps.

Same here. Some days I'll hit the remote 4-5 times to get the doors to unlock or lock... Other days it's on the first try. It's not a lub issue, somedays it will receive the signal, other days it will ignore it...

Welcome to the club.. Mines been doing the same for about a year. Lock button is fine, but I usually have to use my key to unlock the truck because I get tired of pressing unlock 30+ times

Try changing out the power lock relays in the fuse box. It worked to correct my power lock issues. Rear locks would not work.

The new relay from the dealer was visibly different.

I would think if it was just a lube issue the lights would atleast flash when the button was pushed.

Exactly

Your not going to need to lube the door locks but rather your back end Larry. I think it's gonna need to go to the dealer for a re-program of the BCM/keypad.

Just think, when these Duramaxs are as old as my 6.5 this won't be an issue.

I never lock the 6.5 as I am not convinced the power unlock OR key will work to open it...:)

So far so good on my 6.6, but the Tahoe door locks have given me fits over the years...

Does the power door lock button inside unlock the door with no problems when you push the button? If it does, it is not a lubrication issue.

Wendy's does.

Mine does as well Josh
Must be an electical or programming problem then. Since the remote and the button both use the same door lock actuator, I can't imagine one would work and the other not.

I've had doors that have had lubrication problems before. Usually what happens is for some reason or another, the drivers door will get sticky (perhaps from more use), but the passenger's door will be ok. It will get so that the driver's door lock will unlock, but you have to hit the button several times before it will unlock. You can see it wiggle and move a little each time you hit the button, but it won't fully unlock unless you repeatedly press the button. When it happened to me, the lock part worked fine; it was only the unlock that wasn't working. I lubed rod guides with some white lithium grease and sprayed WD-40 down inside the lock actuator and it worked just fine. On another one I had to replace the lock actuator which was actually the entire latch assembly on that particular truck.

Figured out a temp fix... Was tosing my keys in the air leaving work today and the hit the ground from about 15 feet in the air, after that it unlocked fine.. Hit the unlock button about 30 times cause I was so excited and it worked fine everytime. Just went to unlock the truck, nothing happened... Tossed them in the air again and let them hit the ground and the unlock worked again. So this works for me
