I started the truck up and it ran smooth for about 20 seconds. gave it some throttle and all felt normal. After the 20sec passed it started to shake and idle ruff. Is it because the TC is broke and not flowing fluid? Once it filled up with fluid it went off balance?? Would this cause the leak in the rear of the trans too????

Converter is either ballanced or not, just like a crank pulley. If is not ballanced it will shake right away in park. If it did this standing still you probably have something installed incorrectly in the trans. If it was the converter it would not cause a leak at the back of the trans.
At this point the trans needs to come out for inspection. I suspect misplace torrington bearings. Just guess.

I thought the leak might be caused from pressure being built in the trans?

I installed the trans and i know all the bolts were tight. I can see the flexplate and it lookes ok. The flexplate was balanced when i did the build.

What would cause the motor to start up, run good then 20sec later the whole truck starts shaking? Deff feels like something is off balance. I do see a shiny line all the way around the TC about 1/8th of a inch thick but i didnt find any bolt heads or pieces when i took the inspection plates off.

Does it run smooth for 20 seconds then start idling rough every time you start it, or did it run smooth and then start idling rough and now it does it every time? Are you sure it's transmission related? Have you checked balance rates and rail pressure and stuff like that? Does it smooth out any as you increase RPM or does it just shake worse?

Newly check the compression, log balance rates, and log rail pressure. This can rule out engine related problems. It would most likely be injector related. Minor things make a huge difference in a modified engine. How hard did you turn it on the dyno? If all checks out check the valve lash and push rods. Just throwing out something to think about.

Not everytime i start it. Only after the truck sits for awhile then i start it it will run smooth for 20 seconds or so then it will start to shake. Its like the converter is draining fluid then when i start the truck it fills up then starts shaking when it gets off balance. ATS thought i might have broke the stator but IDK. Its too hard to diagnose with out taking it apart. Its not from the engine, i didnt even spin it past 3,400RPM on the dyno. When logged, it looks great.

Not everytime i start it. So are you saying that sometimes it starts and then doesn't shake at all or sometimes it shakes right away, sometimes it takes 20 seconds if say it sits for awhile? If it's shaking, balance rates could be off regardless if it is a bad injector or a trans issue as the constantly changing load could be causing the bal rates to bounce around.
If you could command the converter to lock-up at idle, this would be away to determine if it is a trans or engine issue. Putting it in drive at idle, foot on brake may help to diagnose as well.

I wish we could monitor individual clutch, lube, and converter circuit pressures in these 1000's like you can in the 750's-it make trans troubleshooting easier.

Its not the motor. I have logged it, Mike has logged it and it looks good. The converter and flexplate spin when the truck is idling, in neutral or in drive with my foot on the break. One of those two parts are off balance/broke and is causing the shake. Not to mention again that there is trans fluid coming from the rear of the trans. The fluid has a slight drip to it when trans is in drive but seems to leak/drip alot more when its in park and idling.

I don't know about the stator being broke causing the engine to shake. The last few stators I broke would cause the engine to lug in drive to the point of stall. The converter would make noise in neutral but not shake.

What do you think Mike?

One more thing? Any chance the balancer is loose? Micks shook violently when he sheared the key?

The engine isnt the issue. Something in the trans is causing the engine to shake. Its not JUST the engine shaking, the whole truck shakes.

Yes sir, would beat him out of the cab. This was after 20 to 30 pulls for Mick over a few weeks.

Maybe remove the converter bolts and push the converter back. Restart the engine and see what happens. I wouldn't rev it up but let it idle and start the process of elimination. Just a thought.

One more thought on the broken stator. So long as I was moving, I had no issues with vibration or noise, only a huge amount of heat.
