Lets just hope the crank is OK . I have heard of it taking cranks out before if the balancer comes loose . If i remember right it happend to jonny ?
The SoCal damper is "pressed" on to the crankshaft so even if the bolt was loose the damper would stay in place. A press fit also takes some of the load off of the alignment pin in the crank as well as providing a better conduit for absorbing harmonics.
The factory damper is a slip fit which causes all sorts of issues.
But he had Socal dampner? Going by his signature? No? Trying Not to stir the pot.
From what I read all we know is the bolt came out by hand....unless I missed something......everyone can guess at whats wrong or what happened but personally I have a tough enough time figuring something out when its in front of me and I'm working on it......
Would have been interesting if Guy diagnosed the engine. I would have liked to see what happened to the trans. Maybe we could have helped saving a big tow bill and Bryan could watch tv instead of driving all night. Maybe you could have pulled Sat. and raced next weekend.
Each time Mick sheared his keys, the balancer spun and loosened the center bolt. Matter of fact, that is how he recognized the balancer problem the second time.
