There's a kid in my engineering class that I see pull into the parking deck every day with a loud SOB blown lightning. Sounds freakin amazing listening to it cam. I managed to stop him one day curious what was done to it. He said it had a fully built motor, supercharger, drivetrain upgrades, fat tires, traction bars, lowered...the works. Don't remember cam specs. Estimated 650hp fuel only @ 18 lbs boost and would run a mid 11 easy. How much truth do you believe in that?

I had no idea it could have that much power with a bolt on supercharger & a bottom end to hold it. He weighs 2,500+ lbs less I'm sure there's no chance in hell I could win that race yet Pat was going to the track back in 2006 with a PPE 4088 (same turbo as me) and beat every single lightning/srt10......?

...

Keep in mind the DA at LACR is often over 6,000' even at night, and the track is slippery. A 4x4 diesel has a big advantage. At sea level on a sticky track, a well-setup Lightning is no laughing matter.

One of the problems with the SRT-10 is they have a manual truck transmission on most of them? Only the later models had an automatic option.

I watched the first pass and nothing..................................... and after reading the title i figured the "fast pass" was coming any minute ............................................ it never came.

I just kept thinking "man he needs to turn it up more" , that made me realize how long its been since i was into to gassers , he cant with out swapping a hard part :roflmao: maybe we arent so stupid after all for racing diesels ;)
I was thinking the exact same thing. I kept watching run after run thinking the next was the one he's going to launch this biatch and run at least a mid 9. I watched the whole thing and realized thats 6 minutes of my life gone that I'll never get back.

haha this video cracked me up

First you need to learn how to launch.

Second grow some balls and drive the piece of crap like you stole it, dont be afraid you got a cage and all kinds of other goodies in case that super fast bad mamma jamma gets away from you

Third drag racing is not your thing, you should maybe take up knitting or somthing

Fourth why a dodge SRT-10? there are way cooler things to build and race besides a srt.

im going to trade my dmax bright and early in the morning for a SRT-10 so i can fall asleep at the light and then nearly stall out when i come off the line :thumb:

Not impressed. Compare it to a REAL gasser. Flaco was running 8's @ 156 mph a year and a half ago with 2 less cylinders, a smaller turbo, and no nitrous. . .

And just under 200 in the standing mile just last week. . .

One of the Dairy guys around here has a solid 9 second Lightning. He has whupped us hard at the track, but IIRC, Ralph waxed him on the street in Casper?

Yes, Ralph had the advantage. You said he had to drive in 4wd on the street :thumb:
