Instead of derailing smkndmax05's thread I figured i'd start a thread about fully tinted winshields.

Who's got em fully tinted? Only thing i can think of that would be a downfall is driving at night obviously. Ive been thinking about doing this for a while but havent had the stones to do it. Let me know how you guys like it.

Ive had 5% on all my windows in every vehicle i've owned. Seeing to turn at night is the only downfall but im very used to that now. What is the biggest downfall to the tint on the windshield before you got used to it?

It does het a little bad at pitch black nighttime, but I have HID's so its not too terrible. I just like having people not being able to see in my truck in the daytime. (not like they would steal anything, it's gutted :roflmao:

we did all our trucks 35 -20 on the windshield and 20 on all sides and seems a bit dark at night especially when turning. now we did our audi this year and went 20 on all sides and 50 on the windshield and it seems perfect. you can barely make out that someone is inside and night driving is not affected significantly. This configuration seems to work best for us.

I've always done 5 on all the windows and 20 on the windshield. Yes backing up and night driving suck but I like my privacy. I never got bothered for it but all my vehicles have been black. Since my new truck is white I think I'm going to run 20 on the sides and back. Then 30 on the windshield this time.

Really hope you guys with HID's have them retrofitted with actual HID projectors, otherwise you're not really doing much good throwing scattered light everywhere. Halogen housings weren't meant for HID's.

Anyways....I have 35% on the shield on my CC with a 5% strip across the top. The regular cab is 50%. I've gotten hassled in my CC a few times but I also have a prescription for tint so they can't do much. I like the 35% better and can see just fine at night, it actually cuts down on glare at night.

This is a pretty good picture to show 50% on the shield with 14% on the sides and 1% on the rear.

and 35% shield (meters at 27%), 14% sides, 1% on the back window.

Have had 50%, 35%, and now 20% on different vehicles and absolute love it! Looks great, day and night time driving is great, and no issues seeing out of it ever!

I have 15% on all my side/back windows with 50% windshield and 15% strip. I like it, but I wouldn't want mine any darker. I did my windshield more for the UV protection than anything! :woott:

The cops would have a field day with you guys in my area!

Here too, they have a field day with it. I've been harassed for my strip, I couldn't imagine what they'd do if my whole windshield was done. I've even been told there's no validity to Dr notes for it either. Even though I'm color blind and use the strip to see traffic lights on bright days they still give grief.

I believe there is a law on the books here in CT that you can have tint with a doctors slip otherwise they (cops) can send you in for a inspection which means take the tint off. I know of many that have had a problem ,I have been lucky with all of my vehicles.Continue with violations means they will pull your reg.

I do put the windows down during the day and also at night I will turn on the interior light .

Depends what time of the month it is. Near the end of the month I usually get hassled for non-moving violations, aka mud flaps, tint, exhaust, etc.

One time a cop asked me why I didn't have pocket flairs and I told him I thought they looked gay. Also get asked if the truck is mine or if it's "Daddy's" quite often.

Cops go nuts down here with me but I have 3 doctors notes saying it is mandatory :D

I have a tint prescription as well. Although in MN you can't have anything more than 70% on the entire shield and 20% on the sides.... but when they see the note they usually drop it and go to my tires sticking out or the 68mm VNT being loud.

I've even been told there's no validity to Dr notes for it either. Even though I'm color blind and use the strip to see traffic lights on bright days they still give grief.

I'd have to check but I bet there is, because all police officers know every single law.

I always roll my windows down and am extremely polite until they get an attitude. Then I don't really care and can write whatever ticket they want because I'll go in and fight it anyways.
