Hey Ken,

Yeah I remember reading about that Spearco busting apart on you. Is this a common occurrence? Either way I will have it reinforced as you suggested. I still don't know what brand of intercooler I'll be going with as of yet.

Nick for us the BD looks to be the best. It has held well in Max'd Out at 120psi of boost. As far as frontend gear, ck out the Dmax store too, their stuff looks good. Rob has their Center link and tierods in Max'd Out. The tierods they call their Kryptonite series look great, spendy but great.

Alllllmost done. When I look back now at the amount of money that's sitting in front of me I just shake my head lol! I have to laugh, otherwise I'll just cry:rofl: But I'm sure it'll all be worth it:woott:

I have a 6" Pro Comp on there now. With my 285's that I use for drag racing I cut 1.6's 1.7's. My MPH at the end of the run varies from 101 mph to 106 mph.

it is going to pull, HARD, slicks are going to make it pull harder. add about 20-30 mph to your trap speed, more wind under the truck, less traction, more chance of losing it.

i think trying to go that fast in a lifted truck is looking for trouble and dangerous imho

I see your concern.

Are there any lifted trucks that are running in the 10's that you guys know of?

Nick

The risk of running that fast in a lifted truck on street tires is not worth it man... I'd get rid of the lift and run a big drag radial or slick. It will be way worth it and not to mention it is much safer

Hi Nick
is your suspention lift long travel or jacked?
high center of gravity is one thing but controling that travel will take better than tin can shocks
even if your do drop it a bit some really good shocks will help because it will it will only take one expected unload [back off] to put it in the wall because you got to take into account how much additional chassis wind up thats dumped into tyres an suspension
I reckon you will work it out saftly for everybody if you wind the wick up slowly so you get to feel whats going to be containable or not.

Any things achievable with the right approch[and enough money] but dont forget about the unknown factor
Hope it works good luck:thumb:

Curious how many people commenting have actually driven a 10 or even 11 second truck with a lift down the 1/4? I Have and my truck feels (TO ME) completly stable at launch and at the other end with a 4" lift.. JMHO though,, Also keep in mind I am not recomending lifting your truck to go drag racing thats just a$$ backwards But If your willing to sacrafice a few 10ths and dont mind taking the time to learn how the truck reacts to the lift/power then IMO go for it:thumb:

What I've noticed most about running a lifted truck is that with the lift the higher center of gravity makes it much harder to leave hard enough to accomplish your potential. I could only leave about 8lbs of boost or Id just blows the tires off and had to drive it for sure. I've since lowered my truck back to stock hieghts and it is definitely different. My truck was stable even at 135 so the height doesn't hurt that if its setup right. Rear bars are a must have though.

The pro comp lift worries me a bit with the drop controll arms.

my truck feels just as stable after the lift as before.
I however would not try to make a lifted truck run 10's too much wind and rolling resistance

I don't know what lift converts to what crankshaft height, but here's what the NHRA says:

"Maximum height of crankshaft
centerline 36 inches for trucks running 12.00 and slower; 31 inches
for trucks running 11.99 to 10.00; and 24 inches for trucks running
9.99 seconds and quicker. See General Regulations 1:1."

Wow thanks for all the info guys:thumb: You know, when I was running 12's with my truck, I never had a feeling like it was squirrely. It left the line straight all the time and was like an arrow all the way down the 1320. Even spinning all four tires on certain launches.

My Pro Comp lift doesn't have the drop down spindles. I didn't want that option. My truck will be ready very, very soon.

Thanks guys!:)
