Id venture a guess that you need more air. Whether it comes from a charger or a bottle. It also depends on what type of 366 and 480.

Wasn't trends first setup (maybe even his mpi kit he had??) a 366/480 combo?? I can't remember but I think he just got close to 10s but not quite. Then went huge and almost skipped 10s entirely & nearly hit 9s??? Am I remembering that crooked??

Oh damn!! No I really don't want to mess with nitrous. Has anyone done 10's with a 366 over a 480 on fuel only?

I believe Trent did, if I am not mistakin.?. 366/480 have the potential (Air) for 10's but everything has to be dam near spot on IMO.. weight, tires, Suspension, fuel, Motor and Transmission tuning, trac prep, etc, etc,,,

Nick those heads went into the 9's on Max'd Out, I agree I don't think you have enough turbo and the egt's will be pretty high. Cool you want to do it on a lifted truck, you might want to look at the old video of Mad Dog racing Fletcher in Seattle with his lifted beast a few years ago, pretty squirrely. Tuning will be key and it would be great if you could get some weight off of it. Good luck and be sure and take some vidoes once you get it on the track.:thumb:

Set up and driver will will make or break 10s with that setup. IMO i would just put valve springs on your stock heads, and spend the extra money on a larger charger than a s480, that will put you there easier with the fuel you have, with the 42/55 combo i did 10.70s with just 60%over injectors.

What pulse width were you running?

No way! No lowering my truck. I know everyone is going to say to lower it but that is not an option. I want 10's with my truck lifted the way it is with a set of slicks.

Nick

Add 100hp if you keep your lift.

From doing my research on alot of threads your setup with it lifted even with smaller tires is not going to get you near 10's I have seen bigger twins run only 800hp (maybe they wer not pushing the truck with alot pulse and a huge tune) but still you get my point. Plus with the lift I would guess you be somewhere in the mid elevens? Further readings have shown me the fast 10 second trucks have done lots of suspensions mods, different shocks, removing leaf springs, some have traction bars, clamoing the springs, bags, relocating shocks, etc. Not tyring to say a lifted truck cant do 10's and get your hopes up but your going to need more power or do suspension work. I would say run the setup do some suspension work and spray it. Sell the lift and use that money towards some shocks, and a nitrous system and I think the end result will be very positive and should not cost you anymore money.
