what type of hp was matt moon running if i recall he ran a 11.2 a while ago on his lift

Probably 800 id say, he just had a single charger on iirc.

Ive rode in an 800hp lifted truck, with the right lift kit, they launch just as straight as my truck does, not all lift kits are created equal though.

If thats the Twins you are already getting, then you will just have to work on the set up, if you really want it bad, they will get you 10's it might just take some work.

At 110 mph + I want to be low not up high wobbling around and lifting. Just my feeling but I hate a truck that feels squirrelly at that certain speed point that each has even on a good hard street race. Dropped Tbars and Caltracs feels like it is safer QA1 shocks adjusted to known place you want is a bonus instead of a shock not tuned. Just my take that's all. Run what you want that's why it's racing.

Robs right, the right lift will feel just as solid at speed as stock or lowered height. Tires play into it more than the geometry in this case I think too.

Ken I thought of maddog when he first mentioned the lift
But that's not really a fair comparison

A 4" lift vs 6 plus is quite a bit different IMO

I think the front will be fine.with the right shocks

Do you have stock rear leafs? I think a deaver or something similar is a safer choice.
Many people in div 6 have lifted trucks and you see a lot of blocks and u bolts fubared

It can be done but it's going to take a lot of research and trial and error
I had good luck using air bags when I use to race my 05 but it was no 10 sec truck

Do you have the double knuckle shaft on the front. Shaft for your t case?

Either way good luck! But I can forsee alot of frustration and added cost jmho

When I build my motor I plan on keeping the cognito 4-6" ntbd kit. Simple enough to run 35's with rear blocks raised up or pull the blocks with t-bars out on 285's stock height. Launches perfectly fine. Only disadvantage is 200+ lbs I guess.

My first (And only clean) run down the 1/4 with my twins and 4" lift, I logged 132MPH and it felt stable and as safe as a stock height truck at speed. Granted its a 4" lift with the TB's all the way down but I dont for see it being to big of an issue other then the weight and aerodynamic disadvantages.. I still would not reccomend lifting or keeping a lift for a dedicated drag truck, but if your truck pulls double or tripple duty like mine, (Drags/Pulls/DD) I say run with it:thumb:

Thanks for all the advice and thoughts guys!

I retired this truck from work duty when I bought my Dually. It won't haul or tow anything anymore. It's just basically going to be my toy on the weekends with the family and to have fun at the drag strip every week. I know I'm going to break hard parts and such. I'm not running the knuckle drop kit. Didn't want to because I wanted to keep the same track width. But I do have blocks in the rear, and yes I've wrecked my U-bolts more than once lol. The Deaver spring pack sounds like a great idea. Thanks!

I will see where my turbo setup will get me. If I see that it's really running hot and can't meet my goal then that's when I'll sell the S480 and go bigger. I'm guessing I would be ok to keep the S366 in there?

Yeah I remember seeing Mad Dog's race with his Fummins. I'll be honest, it scared me seeing that. But my truck doesn't pull to the side at all. Granted, I only had a little over 500hp at the wheels and not 1000.

Other than tie rod sleeves, what else should I get to beef up the front end? I will need a TC brace now for sure. The build cost for the motor just blows my mind! And even after you have the motor and tranny you still need all sorts of little things to get the power to the ground lol. This sport really is a serious drug. I still remember putting my Edge Juice in the truck years ago and saying "I'll never need more than this" Yeah right!!

Strait center link solved my toe in issues, That combined with the Cognito Braces and HD tie rods makes a pretty stout front end IMO..

Agree on the super steer stuff, they make some awesome looking tierods as well. For sure on the centerlink, the heaver the better, there are several companies out there that make good ones.
My reference to Mad dog probably wasn't a good one, totally different beast and front end. My toy is a 10 sec truck and I want it as low as possible without dropping it. T-bars all the way down and passenger's side cranked back up three turns and then the front end realigned. Over loads off and I'll probably take out at least one leaf in the rear. It will not tow anymore either.

Nick,

You should be able to hit 1000rwhp with that setup. We dyno'd an LB7 on 45pct sticks and 2400uS @ 845rwhp. (SSNARSKI's truck) Tony M has since turned the wick up and I'd venture to say it's at least 900 now.. He can chime in and vouch for it.. And the trans :)

There's no reason that a non gated 66/73 with a .91 or 1.01 housing and a billet S480 7 blade won't make a grand. We're making 927 on a single billet S475 on Tom & Joe Hill's LLY. The S480 alone will make 1000hp.

Your truck is a handful at 12.50 or whatever the last runs were at. Are you still going to drive the truck for your lawn care business?

Brayden,

Yeah you sounded really confident with those two turbos you spec'd out;) The truck won't be used for work anymore. I bought a '01 LB7 3500 Dually. I bought it just before I blew the motor in my red truck. Best investment I've made so far!

I like the ideas I'm getting for the suspension and steering. Is an aftermarket intercooler going to be needed? And I have no idea what a fuel block is? Would I need one? I saw a few big HP guys with a sump on their fuel tanks.

I know that tuning is going to play a BIG part in all of this. If I do come to see you this time Brayden you can bet that I'm towing a spare truck with me lol. And I don't expect you to get it done in two days either. That I understand. I want this to all come together so bad I can taste it!

Again thanks for all the advice and info guys!:thumb:

Nick I would for sure get an after market intercooler and I'd make damn sure it's reinforced on the ends and corners. I blew up a Spearco in White Out that they said would hold 100+ lbs of boost. And I wasn't making even close to that. Nathan reinforced the ends and corners by adding more through studs, and welding the ends.

First time down the track with new twins, dual duelers, Tuning, etc.. Over boosted and hopped the front end across the track. I dont know of any front end that would look pretty in that scenario at 800+ RWHP. ;)
