You say throw the book at them, Is life in prison enough in your opinion? I read the news occasionally and see murders getting these kind of sentences. They go sit in a jail cell while we pay taxes to feed the scum

I'd suspend their license for 20 years and give them xx years community service. They would be so busy fixing other people's shit they wouldn't have time to drive.

**** jail, that's the east way out. Ever been there? People in prison have it made, cheap drugs, all the tobacco they want, 3 meals and a bed.

I just dont think community service is even close to an acceptable form of punishment no matter how long it is for being responsible for taking 3 innocent lives

As much as I'd like to kill most morons I see it's not realistic, wish it was but that's not the case.

They should have to spend nights in jail and work FOR the community instead of the state. Guess I worded it wrong, but that's why jails are over populated. If people would raise more hell, the law might kill people who kill people but instead they get to hang out.

My wife works at the "Office of the Public Advocate" here in Maricopa County. They review death row inmates cases during the ONE of the many appeals afforded inmates sentenced to death. She has seen the monetary cost calculations of death row inmates as opposed to one sentenced to life, guess which one is cheaper.?

Life in prison is by far cheaper due to the many appeals and thousands of legal hours spent on the appeals process, this may answer why many states are repealing the death sentence from legislation....

This is such a tragic thing that happened. Feel sorry for all who died in this senseless accident. Saw it on our local news and wondered why the FWY was closed.

I don't either, but at the end of the day it was an accident... These guys made a bad decision that cost them big time. Of course the innocent people who were killed deserve justice.

Jail time for those two would suffice.

As for murderers, rapists, drugdealers and molesters.....bullets are cheap. Ropes can be reused. Make punishment a deterrent, not a prize.

Messing around here or there is still wrong and these guys did mess up big time, but doing a small pull with no one around or running a buddy is one thing and stuff you see online of street cars doing like 160 mph is just insane to do on a public road. Sucks it happend but street racing deaths are probably far less than that from texting and driving, and the punishment for that is a ticket.

Edit and I'm not saying I'm for the racers at all I'm saying texting and driving caused deaths should be treated the same

It is manslaughter if you kill someone in an accident due to texting.

Right, and it should be, guess I was trying to say it's an equal crime which it is. I don't know how the guy who got away racing could ever sleep again, how could u drive away from something like that.

Makes me reconsider driving a tiny geo metro 60 miles to work everyday, wouldn't take much to get trapped in that tin can.

On valentine's weekend me and the fiance went up to Indy to st elmos.
On the way back we were about 2 miles from our house. A car had swerved over the grass median over on coming traffic and off a revene. The car was upside down. It ejected the male driver and had him pinned waist down and needless to say he did not have a face!!!! Inside the car was his gf unconscious and not repsonsive. In the back seat was a couple months old infant child hanging in her car seat!!! THE CAR SMELLED LIKE A BREWERY. STRAIGHT REEKED OF ALCOHOL. It's so sad how people can have such poor judgement and put completely innocent people in harms way. Expecially when it comes to driving. You wanna drink and drive? Go play GTA or something. You wanna race someone at 160 mph go to the damn drag strip like the rest of us.That car wreck was sickening to say the least (I do extremely well in dire circumstances and emergencies) but a dad with no face that put his infant in danger while drunk driving.....that would make anyone sick. I'm glad I'm not an emt/fire rescue because I couldn't have saved the worthless POS's life. They lifelined two of the passengers don't know which other than the guy pinned. And I didn't hear if the guy made it and I don't care to know.

Ok my rant is done for a while.
