There ya go his community service. Send him with the first responders on a "clean up crew" after serious accidents. Seeing things like that will change your mind set.

Why do you all think the repercussions of this accident should fall squarely on this other person that is MIA? Technically, the one that actually/physically caused the accident has been arrested, right? The person that is MIA didn't run anyone off the road, hit anyone, or really do anything to cause the wreck other than be the one the out-of-control car was trying to outrun, right? To me, it doesn't sound like they really caused the accident.

What happened isn't any different than if a wreck happened at a track where the car in the other lane didn't cause the wrecked car to get out of control, hit the wall, somersault over the wall and land on the first 3 rows of spectators killing a few people. No one would claim that other car was guilty of anything unless they had swapped lanes or done something to cause the wrecked car to get out of control. Regardless of where this took place, the person who caused the mess isn't any different. No?

To me, I can see the MIA driver being able to get a ticket for racing but not manslaughter nor murder.

I think the thought process is that if the other car wasn't racing too, then there wouldn't have been a "race." I'm not saying that is right or wrong, but to compare it to racing at a track doesn't make any sense. People assume an inherent risk at a race track. Generally speaking, I think a person has reasonable cause to not have people "racing" around them on public streets.

I believe there is a time and place but on populated public streets is not one of them,On a back road with some buds being responsibly stupid is a grey area we have all been but pourpously putting bystandard lives at risk shouldnt be taken lightly and the driver that took the lives should pay the house.

You might not say that if it was one of your family that died.

I think it's criminal for the tandem UPS truck I see every night doing 75 in a 50mph zone switching lanes like mario andretti. Should the driver be thrown in the gas chamber? no, it's not intentional it's reckless.

The drivers and their families will be strung through the legal and civil court system for years to come and probably lose everything they own, rightfully so.
