Who's running TRIPLES and how do you like em verses compounds

Danville just got done building this triple kit and it put down some stupid numbers. This is Alex's daily driver. There is no way you could make this much power and have it as your DD with twins. This was on tune 4, tune 5 should hit 2000hp then they plan on spraying it.

Sorry not buying that at all. You don't use that kind of power on the street, no way. Street tires 2 wheel drive no way. Still don't see it. Small tune spooling on the street or towing maybe, racing on the strip where you get to spool on the line no way. Maybe in Denver or somewhere with a high DA where guys need NOS to light the fire but other than that I don't see it and I've seen a lot of good setups both compounds and triples. Move weight, more pipe more chance for leaks, (as the Hell Camino goes to twin compounds :D).

The street/tow tune dynoed 847 flywheel HP. That's about what I run on the street 99% of the time and its a blast to drive. I'm not saying its not a handful but its a blast!

Triples are the chit! I have never had a twin setup myself but have tuned some. The first triples I had made good power but really was not the right package. The set I have now is bigger but is much better than the first setup. With triples you can get more air movement than with twins and keep drivability. For all out racing and simplicity twins would get the job done. Each have their set if pros and cons. Triples are more complicated to build, route and have the chance for more leaks etc. If built right you will not have that problem. It will cost more to do it in a way you don't have problems. I can say from personal experiences I believe triples will out perform most twin setups of smaller air flow capability.

4WD is definetly advantageous on the street , mine jumps out of the hole ! I love it ! On the street or on the launch pad at the track , The Truck leaves hard !

I wanna take the time to Thank You Guys for your thoughts , comments and information on the question To TRIPLE OR STAY WITH COMPOUNDS. I'm leaning towards triples if I can utilize my DP 72 in the mix.

Go triples! Then we will be twins! Haha. If you will be in ennis fords night I'll be running Willie Lewis truck and you can see how it performs with big twins he dynoed it the other day and made 970 on fuel third tune I believe.

You contemplating going triples along the same setup as what I'm thinking. What sizes are you contemplating ? How big are the twins in Willies truck ? I would be curious to see what it puts down on the dyno there at Ennis, then I can compare to my numbers if I dyno mine there too.

Friday night* sorry fat fingers. I've been wanting to go triples since I built the motor just wasn't sure about what setup I wanted. Will start on them after ennis. Talked to mark and decided I'm leaving the Danville 72 in the valley and going two 366's with it I can't remember what turbos he had but I think it's the same setup as Dustin's from ATP.

I would like to resurrect this thread since there are more out there with triples since 1++ years ago . I went with compounds since my original post but I'm in the middle of a new build as noted in my Sig and will go to Triples this go around if I can sell turbos I have now . I would like to know what would work best for super quick spool up but still have top end with 1300-1400 RWHP in mind . I believe my mods are sufficient to get me there . My truck is pretty light as well considering it has all stock interior . For street fun and occasion track use . I have no intentions of putting in a cage . I'm not a bracket racer. Just heads up racing fun . Thanks in advance for any help you can provide .

Just stick with big compounds. A good set of compounds will make 1300-1400hp just as easy as a set of triples will. A lot less headache with compounds.

Let's say to where it spools as quick as my old combo or better but with potent for 1300--1400 RWHP hell I would settle for 1200-1300 . Old compounds were DP 72 VVT ( not the R version) paired to an S483 BMW with race cover .

Well you're going to need a decent sized secondary charger to support 1300hp...so either way if you want that kind of power, you're going to have to have some sacrifices. My 75/98 compounds will support 1300hp no problem and in my opinion, they spool extremely well. Obviously converter choice and tuning makes all the difference.
