Which will run faster?

2014 yukon Denali 6.2 (short one) with tvs1900 making around 7psi

Or CCSB LMM with built trans on proven 500hp tune?

Haha I didn't think it would even be a close race. Btw it's the wifeys ride. I'm debating on whether or not to supercharge it. Just trying to guage how much performance increase it would see. And using my LMM as the benchmark.

I know the 6.2 is a beast. I've already tuned it and it runs really strong. It's locked on 93 now. They are really pig ass rich from the factory. They pick up well.

So the yukon will run faster huh?

I had a SS silverado with 6.0 228R 3600 stall ARH 1-7/8 long tubes and 42lb injectors. It ran a whooping 8.60. My LMM has already run 8.30 on stock trans.

IMO the turbo will be more efficient with the right tuning, plus those gas motors do a very good job of spooling big turbos with decent street manners.

You can roughly figure 20hp per psi so 7psi would be about a 140hp increase over stock. Will the stock trans hold that?

Not for long. But it's my wife driving it, so it wouldn't ever get beat on.

What is the curb weight? I would think at around 5000lbs or higher it will need a built trans and about 12 psi to run 12's in the 1/4.

Make sure you install a big heat exchanger on the Yukon with a big pump. Power will fade fast as heat soak sets in.

I'm betting on the Yukon FTW

And yes that's my thinking. A tune only dmax can get in the 12s. Most TVS trucks are in the 13s unless over 12psi and built trans (from what I've read and seen on YouTube) makes for an interesting thought. Can't have the wifes ride faster than mine either:D

That's my thoughts, LOL, she would never let you live it down!!!

Those motors are very surprising though. Little turbo builds can go a long way. We are doing a buddy's 2003 4.8 RC/SB right now to get it ready for the track in 2 weeks. 12psi on a built 4l60 and bone stock 4.8 is impressive for what it is. I don't think we will have time to do a cam swap, studs, and gaskets so we will keep it at 12psi for a bit longer.

I talked to a guy that supercharged a 6.2 in a pickup with moderate traction issues ran 7.80's in 1/8. It was tuned also. Tick Performance did the work on it. He spent a lot less money than I did to run 7.70's, just sayin.
