I bought two of them about a month ago for us to have here at the shop. Initially one of them would not work with either CANdi module, while the other would work with both CANdi modules. I didn't want to deal with returns so I figured we would just use one on 05 and older trucks and the other on 06+. Until last Friday when the other will not power up, turn on or anything - even when plugged into the AC or DC power supply adapters that come with them.

These units are much lighter (weight), which I think is because the genuine units have a capacitor inside to store some electricity so that it can stay on while cranking a truck. With these when voltage on the truck drops during cranking it will turn off the Tech2. You can sometimes get away with hooking them up to the battery with the supplied cable, or you can use the AC adapter for power to log while cranking.

They have given me the return shipping address and told me to send both Tech2's and both CANdi modules back under warranty. We'll see what happens.

That's disappointing. I'm probably going to order one from somewhere else and see how it goes

So far they are being helpful. I am sending both Tech 2 units and both CANdi modules back to them $60 through USPS. I am dealing with a guy that goes by Thomas in emails, based on his English I know that is his stage name, but he is being helpful.

Yep same guy with me. Did you ask him to pay for the return shipping? I did today we will see what he says. I don't think I should pay for shipping back to China for sown thing that never worked when I got it really.

so far no issues with mine....but the factory tech2 will not stay on either while cranking. At least the ones at the dealer I had wouldnt.

x2. Its hit or miss with my factory genuine Tech 2, if it stays on during cranking or not. Most of the time it does, but there have been times where it would drop out/reset...depends how good the batteries are, and if cranking time is long or normal.

Tom, I think I'm going to order one of these. Is there anything else I need to order with the kit? Or does everything needed come with the kit?

Everything came in the case.

I just used mine a couple days ago to diagnose my son's Evap CEL on his Aurora.
