Brayden how do you make it lock in 1st gear? Im sure you know how even if you ground the f-trim solenoid wire in 1st it still wont lock until second...what else did you do to make it work in 1st? :D:cool:

Well to squelch all the chatter over on DP we're going to drag race JNeals pulling truck :D

Couple questions... How should we set it up?

Also.. The front diff is welded.. It drives fine in 4wd but does anybody think this will be an issue?

How much boost should we leave at?

The converter locks at the top of first gear thanks to the turbobrake's performance mode. Good thing??

I'm willing to blow it up to see how fast we can get it but I don't think it will. That's why I ordered a nitrous bottle today.

What size jet to run..

We have plenty of fuel ;) Using McRat's calculator we should be able to spray an extra 225 hp or so to it with the largest jet. Should we?

Any input is appreciated especially if IdahoRob wants to chime in. :D
Thanks in advance,

Brayden

I need to try one of your turbo brakes out :D

2nd gear never netted me any better times, to me it seems that it comes down to track prep. You'll have to change that tcm if launching in second gear, cant have the converter lock:D on the line.

Should have no problem getting it down below 6k and with the HP the truck has, you should be below roll bar times on #2.

Give me a call Brayden and I'll give you the run down of my track setup.

The turbobrake has logic built into it.. It locks the TCM when there is xx amount of boost and yy amount of throttle and zz amount of vehicle speed :D So it will still work on a second gear launch it will just come on at those parameters. I can adjust the zzz (Speed) variable to come on later if it snuffs the motor out of the hole on a 2nd launch..

I really think I'll just do first gear starts though..

Thanks Rob...

Larry I know.. I know... Gotta send ya one

Why spray it? With the right set up you should run a high 10 :D So unless you have a roll bar most tracks will kick you off with an 11.5

I agreee if you put down 700+ with out nos run it tht way. you should be easy low low 11s if not 10s driver and setup depending. Good luck take video

Brayden,

I think you'll have an easier time shutting people up, if you leave the current setup on the truck that you just dynoed with.

Weigh the truck, clamp the springs drop the bars, and run the truck. Then if the weight/trap speed calc. shows you are making 715+ I think people will believe the numbers.

Making the truck as light as possible, throwing a bunch of nitrous and fuel to it, won't prove much, as far as a 2.8 cheatah making power. Just, IMO.

On edit: If you still have your heart set on a bonzai pass, I only weigh about 150, and I've got quite a few passes down the track with a reg. cab. hint, hint.

What really sucks about this is I won't even be there to see my truck run. I have to be in Peoria IL for Cat training all week and ORP closes for the winter after this Tuesday.

The guy he is referring to is the one in the golf cart in my avatar. He has a knack for running other people's vehicles faster than they can.
