I wonder how much an oil cooler really helps. Didn't Adam crack Pistons with an oil cooler? I need one, my oil pressure is always low, might just be a junk gauge but it can't hurt.

Yes... Though it did last ~130k vs ~45k between with and without oil cooler.
Have found the dash gauge is off badly on mine

unless your towing on a big tune, run high egts and run high oil temps, i dont see an oil cooler helping the pistons much. cooler oil is better obviously but unloaded, its hard to get oil temps over 220 in the summer, even out here.

IMHO, the high pulse width you run on a race tune really makes the piston heat up. running a bigger injector to cut pulse width would help but i have nothing to prove that with fact. just part of a theory ive been going by the last few years. i really dont think there is much of anything out there short of changing pistons in a lbz and up to keep the pistons from cracking. Well, or hope your pistons were made on a tuesday or thursday. those are the more productive work days so im told :roflmao:

Well, truck is on hold, got the grille painted white today. Found out we're having a baby, so I'm done with the truck until I get some house stuff taken care of.
Congrats man!

Congrats man! When you do the turbo I vote modded Lly charger. I rode in a truck Saturday with a stg2r, both mine and his stg2r sound alike on spool up and mine is even louder whistle when cruising. My tct wheel also has a continus supercharger type whistle when it's building boost that the stg2r doesn't. My charger also spools and hit way harder than his stg2r. You couldn't pay me to trade my modded Lly charger for a stg2r.

Not sure. I sourced all my parts myself, I post over on df more. A bunch of guys all went in together and pitched in on the turbo for my wedding gift. Brock aka minerigger was kind enough to assemble/port n polish my turbo.

I picked the Lly stock turbo up for $200
Tct wheel $500
10 blade turbine was $120 off eBay
Rebuild kit was $200 from Midwest
Fingers high flow vanes $300
Balancing was around $80 I believe

So all together I had around $1400 into mine. Brocks truck is the one I rode in with the stg2r.

I may go that route, that's a lot cheaper than a stage 2r and won't cut into my room remodeling and stuff too bad, I have to buy us a new king size bed and ditch this queen so I'm not getting beat to death. Pregnant women sure move a lot in their sleep lol.

Lol...

Just wait untill those little feet start needling you while your trying to sleep. I dont know why they do it but they all do, its so annoying, just wait. The bed cant be big enough to get away from it...:)

I've installed a few modded lly chargers and I love the way they perform...
