Did you pull the CHRA of the bigun yet? Usually it's good to hold off mailing the funeral announcements until the patient hits the morgue.

Assuming the CHRA is hosed, be aware that big singles aren't as fun as twins or small singles on the street. They can be made to work, but you might grow tired of the lag pretty quick. Centrifugal blowers aren't made for high boost. Don't expect more than 30-40 PSI out of one without problems.

yeah i just pulled the big one off and the turbine side is fine. it didnt hit at all on the turbine side. the shaft is bent on the compressor side causing the wheel to get into the housing. the housing can probably be used but the wheel is shot along with the shaft. i dont really want a big single by itself. im just glad the turbine side is not messed up meaning nothing went through the high dollar gtx charger. i need to find out how much a center section is. i may just go ahead and put the 106 center section in it.

Fix the turbo and give it one more shot. It gets old working on your truck, between my wife, kids and the farm I don't have that much free time and I'm not sure I want to spend all of it working on my truck either. You just get one thing figured out or fixed and then it's something else. Just like everything that is fun I have to take it to the next level to realize that it was probably more fun the way it was before if you look at the big picture. Best of luck with your decision.

What about back halfing a 2wd half ton ? Not as light as an s10 or mustang but could still be a fun street toy without being a ton of work

Hey my RCLB is almost %100 back to stock. Its is missing a few parts like a pillar and spare tire and there is a couple things i never finished up. Interior is in great shape no rips/tears in seat. I already extended wire harness to relocate ficm even though i moved it back to the valve cover. Im looking to move it PM me if your interested. Only has 74K on it. i just put all new calipers and stainless lines on it.

As much as I miss my built motor/twins,, It is nice having a reliable truck again;) My built motor should be done any day now and I am seriously considering just saying screw it and selling my motor, turbo's, fuelers, etc,,etc,, And just being content with a 500 H.P. DD/work truck  :)

That sucks Josh.

If I hadn't found the deal on my 02, I'd be done with diesels. It allowed me to keep my nice truck to daily drive and a second one to mod and have fun. I'm in it as long as my truck stays together. Anything major happens to it and i'm done. I have too much other stuff I keep putting on the back burner. The funniest part is my daily job is CFO and I tell my boss all the stupid sh!t that he does with his money and then I tell him about this pulling truck I'm building.:roflmao:

Find something like I did. A truck that needs injectors or even better, a motor.

There is something very sad about this thread. All you guys going back to stock, or close to it.

Sure as sh**, hotrodding diesels is not for the faint of heart.
