Does anyone have any experience using a cooler on the supply side in below freezing temps? I plow snow in the winter and wonder if there is a possibility of gelling. I suppose cooling the return side would be a better idea in my case.

I rarely saw below 100° on return once system was warmed up on my setup

Got mine installed. Reused the factory ends out of the stock cooler and adapted them into the new cooler so I could just plug and play. Plus I didn't have to rig up a way for my ad2 return to plumb into the cooler. Just retweeked the return line to the fuel tank and good to go.

Bye bye factory junk

Where the return lines use to come together before entering the stock cooler, you can see the rebent one going to the bottom of the cooler now

And the whole setup. Pic makes it look lower than the frame rail but it's all flush or just above the frame rail. (the rusty braces have been cleaned up and painted since this)

Ordered a raptor 100 lift pump finally for the LBZ, will see how it helps/hurts the fuel temps. I have my cooler inline with the fuel filter head, so I don't see the as hot temps, but still cool the fuel before it gets to the engine, cant hurt either way.

Where did you mount the cooler you have.? I picked up a Setrab 13x7 cooler for dirt cheap on CL, brand new never used and was considering mounting up high behind the grill.

Well there is a significant difference between no fuel cooler and having one. You can definitely tell when the ECM was pulling back fuel due to temp and when it's not when you pull a hill loaded down. What use to take 1/2 throttle was almost 3/4 or more just to maintain the same speed and grade.

I did gain 1mpg easily noticeable heading up north and 2mph coming back when I want hammering on it. That has highly impressed me and makes it well worth it.

On the way up I hit 217* fuel temps which was down from the 225* I had seen before and I was hammering on her more than prior. Pull at a constant up with variations of hills I averaged 180* fuel temp with 110* outside temp. On the way home I saw a peak of 170* and an average of 155*.

Cooler fuel temps made the oil and coolant temp take longer to start moving above 200*. I also saw less peak coolant temp than prior times as well

I gross 20k truck and trailer.
