In my stock motor I always ran rotella. In my built motor I ran rotella synetic from the start, then switched to amsoil. Now I run delo due to more frequent oil change intervals and it has helped my blowby. Plus it's cheap!!

I run amsoil and royal purple, whichever I can get ahold of, I'll loose a piston long before the motor wears out so **** it, I change mine every 5-8k and sometimes go to 10k.

Run a under oiled K and N air filter because I'm in a lot of dust and would be buying a new filter once a month sometimes, inside of tube is spotless from what I can tell.

I changed the oil every 3k in my LLY and it had Dino oil until 90k and royal purple to 190k and motor was still tired looking, so it's all speculation I think.

With my 2010 I have run as high as 24k interval, most 18k. Oil sampling.

Oil sampled my 2013 @ 5000 miles first oil change. Hole shit cooper and silicon were high. Wear metals have since went down. Running 10k intervals now. Did 2 oil changes on the truck in the last 3 months.
Ours test high on copper everytime, not uncommon for a duramax, likely from oil cooler

I've only used cat oil on my truck which it think is the same as mobile 1 15w-40 I ran that one because I get it free at work, usually I put whatever I get free at work, when I had my f250 i would run delo or rotella

The dirtiest engines are new or freshly rebuilt.

Delvac is what I usually run in my crew cab. The 10qt jug at walmart for 32.00 is hard to beat. Seems to help with type writter tick. But just stocked up from that menards oil sale. Valvoline premium blue for 9.99 a gallon.

In my reg cab I only run schaffers race oil.

Black oil matters.

Oh no I would rather my oil come out looking like honey. That way I know all silica and soot stay in the engine instead of being cleaned out by the oil. :)

Same here. It had me nervous for the first 60k or so.

Not Sure if I read this.

Obviously he's not here to add to the collective intellect. Just wants to sell us something...

I could care less to sell anything...not here for that. I am here to get educated on the Duramax, this is my first diesel. You can add piss to your engine for all I care, do what you want. I don't push AMSOil on anyone, I build sport bike motors for the kart series and motorcycles...they get AMSOil, if the future owners change it, awesome.

I run it cause it's free 99 from my work, used to get Mobil1 Delvac 5w-40 free until they switched because the bogus extended change intervals. Change at 5-7.5k depending on how many :driving: and towing I do.

Rotella run it in my lb7 and my 750 hp Detroit that's a daily heavy haul truck and change it every 15000 miles almost a million on the Detroit and oil analysis always shows it's still in great shape and doesn't need changed but everyone's different
