Customers truck finally rolled 500k. 2012 6.7. First 425k were trouble free. Literally just maintenance and delete. It got a transmission at about 430k and fuel system at around 450k due to grenaded cp4.

Impressive. Always nice to see posts like this about longevity in these newer trucks.

Cancer from the inside out. 24 years sounds like it had a good run on life as it could have been involved in one of many animal encounters in that time that could have taken it out.

Those oversize loads can be big money makers or big losers.

Most screwed up thing I laid out at work was something like 80' x 80' x 3' that had to go out of an opening 81' wide while supporting it on a 10' wide trailer. Trailer operator told me he could make it drag the ground on the sides by adjusting the hydraulics. Client was extremely nervous and all we did was move it from fab shop to paint yard 300 yards away and around the corner.

Had some time to do some digging.... Found majority of my boost leak... The 90° elbow is press fit into the intake manifold on the cylinder head... Supplies the Engine driven air compressor with ai
fillter air....
Drove put 630 miles on the tank.. and 62 gallons back in the tank.. ~10.1 mpg with ~450 of those with the boost leak... Normal it's 8.5 range... Go figure..
I did bump timing 5° and put the bigger 5*.014 injectors in

Trailers are self propelled and only run about 8 - 10 mph at top speed. They do run an inline 6 Man (i think) that makes somewhere around 600 hp.

Each line of 8 tires is capable of supporting north of 66,000 lbs payload plus itself all while doing 8+ mph.

That picture doesn’t do this vessel justice. It’s probably 30’ in diameter.

I didn’t know they could go that fast. I wanted to see them make some of the tight corners they have to make and then go over the bridge. I’ll have to get a better look when I have more time.

Those are remarkably nimble. Each set of 4 tires has about 55 - 60 degrees of rotation in each direction (they steer progressive from each end so the ends turn more) and have about 2' of lift.

The other trailers we have with electronic hydraulic steering have 110 degrees each direction and 2' of lift. Each trailer line has 4 tires and can do about 40 tonnes (I think the newest ones are 48 tonne). Now those are extremely nimble. Did a job in Louisiana and to get the vessel in plant staged at the crane they had to pass up the turn and "switchback" through the gate. Operators hate to drive backwards so they did a pinwheel in the middle of the road so they could drive forward.

Who are you working for? We are starting to bring Hydro's in. Have a couple of LTM1400's on the way from Germany with some smaller friends.

Doing a custom hotsy install for my brothers company. Biggest pain in the ass is the first step is 3 feet of the ground and everything has to sit between cab and tank. Gonna be used for off-road equip washing to prevent field to field contamination an a new power line right of way. Those are 53” tires and are heavy as all hell. Truck has a custom built 4 inch lift.

I work for Diffco a dirt work and concrete company. I’m doing the sub station expansion to power the new unit.

Did not know if you were a crane operator also or just a dirt guy.

If you know what a 8750 dragline is, we are planning a move on one of those (again) in Louisiana. So far have moved 1 in New Mexico, 1 in North Dakota, 2 in North Texas (i think we did 3 total between different mines), 2 in South Carolina, and now the same one again in Louisiana making it 2 there. They are all different machines the 8750's ate the big ones though.

Just dirt. I had the chance to start running cranes in '07 when I built the Galveston Causeway, but I made the mistake of not taking my employer up on the offer.

I forgot Cat was making 8750s now. That would be neat to see. I worked in a small mining operation the biggest we had was O&K RH120 excavator.

Do y'all handle all the logistics of the move and setup or just the bigger pieces?

I only dislike concrete, drywall, and paint at this point. However Im about to retile a good bit of my house, and I have a feeling I'm not going to be a fan of that too...
