I bought my dpms sweet 16 back in October for $875 from Sportsmans warehouse. I put the magpul stock, front sight, buffer tube front sight and magpul +grip on it for about an additional $180. I already had the rear sight. I have only put about 100 rounds through it so far but love this gun. I love me a bull barrel. I also have a Bushmaster xm15 and have put THOUSANDS of rounds through with with not a single issue.

I enjoy my AR-15 but if I could do it over again I would of bought an AR-10. The .223 is nice for pigs and small game but doesn't compare to the .308.

If you want a beater build a palmetto state armory. Put mine together for $540 with a chrome lined 1 in 7 barrel.Put a DNZ mount and vortex 2-7x32. Any dpms in the lower price range will not have a chrome lined barrel.

Chrome lined doesn't meean it's "better". A 1-7 barrel also limits you to some pretty heavy bullets. Not going to be the greatest for 55 grain plinking. Unless your doing competition shooting with matchgrade 70+ grain ammo I would either stick with a 1-9 or 1-8 twist.

completely agree on the poly lowers very toy'ish feeling.

M&P and bushmaster are nice off the shelf entry levels.

Found a gun I like.

Anderson aluminum billet lower, DPMS lower parts, BAD lever, mil spec stock
JSE precision A3 upper with a bunch of stuff. It's new never fired and comes with a few pmags.

Boss has one of those, its a nice shooting gun. Too rich for my blood, i have a whoping $180 in that mosin, building an archangle now. I just have become addicted to those russian guns. Its fun to work on them, polishing the bolt shaving some here and there to see what helps and what doesnt. And it alot easier to replace a cheap gun then a big dollar one

Yea it's expensive. But i love it. I don't shoot it that much, but when i do its a blast! I've almost bought a few nagants but every time I look at them I cant get over how ugly they are. $150 at Cabelas right now. I've got $3500 into my lapua including the gun, scope, ammo, powder and reloading supplies. I got the gun for $600 off so of course i had to buy it.

you have twist confused... nato are 1 in 7 for 55 grain. And chrome lined is better unless you shoot thousands of rounds a week.
