IIRC the left hander came out in 2003 after the nut was known to fall off

Simon im almost positive it was 06. Ive torn down LB7's and LLY's and they both had right hand thread oil pump nuts
could be i dont think so thoe. we looked pretty good today down in tht area and couldent see any thing wet and stuck some swabs and nothing wet came out. i thinkin its the upper pan where it bolts to the bellhouseing but will look harder at every thing tomarow on a lift. to make sure where its comeing from. a few pics from yesterday

It's a lefty, That is a replacment cast oron oil pump by mellings.
After you had the rear adapter plate on and cast oil pan did you install the bolts from inside the pan to the adapter before installing the lower black oil pan.

we are on our way to take a look at the leak.
If it's the return pipe like i as well as others are thinking.... tommy is getting a different turbo !!!!! Come on tommy, it's only money, it'll grow back !

i'm thinking we just pinch it and make it so there isn't oil returning... that way there will always be oil for the turbo and no leak....
Towed Tommy's truck to Mike L's today since another leak spouted last night. Luckily Mike happened to have the tranny cooler line in stock
Still have the engine oil leak though.

yea i should of fiigured out a new supply,return and reroute before the motor went in just for this reason.
Keep in mind there are two lengths for the drain pipe: LB7 (short), LLY+ (long). There is only a 1/2" difference, and only by side by side comparision can you tell. You CAN force an LB7 to fit an LLY, and vice versa, but almost always it will leak. Maybe not the day you install, but it will.
Aftermarket LB7-based chargers (A5000, HTT, BD, etc) will require an LB7 (short) distance even if put on a LLY+

reaching my hand on top of the bellhousing i can feel oil. I will clean it all off and throw some dye in there and go from there.....
That trans line was a huge leak so i'm glad thats fixed and we can get this oil leak fixed and you back on the road again !
If i take the turbo off and you don't have a larger one to put in it's place i'm gonna be upset !
