for it to crank and crank and then sometimes attempt to fire up... just sounds like a timing issue. possibly an issue with the valvetrain.... johnny did the valves and i know he took his time on setting the lash as he had explained it to me how he was showing you guys.... it just does not make sense. If fuel is getting to the cylinder then the only thing you are lacking is air and proper timing......

i dont no how the timeing could be off one dot goes between the 2 and thts it. im 99.99% shure they are corecctt
but i dont know wht else it could be

valves set to tight.. letting some compression by...??? or crossed injector wires somewhere are my to thoughts as well

is there any way to open up efilive and look at cam and crank possion and see if that corresponds correctly to TDC?

It's really weird, log shows his truck is making up to 9kpsi while crankning trying to start, desired was 5.5k. We cracked the #1 and #2 injectors and it doesn't seem like enough fuel is coming out imo, I would expect to see some strong/bigger fuel shots coming out rather than just a little fuel running out the top of the fitting.I'm starting to think that maybe there is a blockage in the rail not allowing the fuel to flow correctly and maybe bringing the actual rail psi up high?

we checked cylinders 1,3,5 and lucky #7 since they are easy to pull the glow plugs out. They all had around 300 psi which is ok. The #7 glow plug was a little wet and the others were completely dry.

One more thing, It seems that the engine is getting fuel also because it smells like raw fuel and there is grey smoke coming out of the downpipe out of the turbo

there is no way its making 9k psi while cranking...log pulsewidth, timing, mm3, and rpm and see what you are getting. Does the tech2 say camp and crank signal present?

That's why I'm wondering if there is some blockage?

Thinking about either Tommy or cracking the #8 injector which is the first to get fuel on the driverside iirc and see what kind of fuel comes out of it.

I remember somebody had hung injectors and they fought with it for awhile till they found it. Maybe something to check out.

It does sound like a restriction somewhere to me though judging by how high your pressure is. Do you have little rail fittings in yours like the LB7? Are they in correctly? Checkvalves are all in the right way? I don't know if you can even put them in backwards but it's always worth checking the simple stuff first.

Good luck Tommy-I hope you get it to go tonight.

Screen shot

Tommy your injectors arent firing. Does it show a constant 9,000psi when cranking? Or just for a split second? You should also be showing ~180psi rail pressure with the engine off. Make sure the batteries are charged, that cranking rpm seems a little bit low too.
