from what i have seen with other stuff that has left his shop i agree.

talked to him today.. the block i have gotten had a piston split in it.. and i bought i knowing that. i didnt have the tool to measure he told me is was .009" deep  so .020" goes the block and adds ~1500 to parts cost :(

def have a solid short block good to about 750-800 reliably

.020 is .508mm if i did the conversion right

no offense simon.. but you my northern buddy have more hoops to jump through in getting parts then i do.

one of my messages got through to guy today. he called me back said they use mallory on the front and back (lbz crank with LB7 externals) and it will be ready for pick-up monday the 10th. had to drop the main studs and head studs and run stockers :(

so the plan i spick up the block and 1/2 a steer that got offered to me. go back to moorpark assemble and the truck should bt runnign some time tuesday after noon :D

It will be worth the wait when you get it back:D

that maybe true...

but when i got some one's word it would be ready for pickup 10-31-08 and it is still not ready. irrtates me. :(
i dont think it guy's intention to have this hapen and believe he will take care of me.
it costing both of us more money then it should. me sitting here waitng for it and guy money as well for the rework that need to get done due to not being done right the first time.
guy said he will call sometime between 0830-0930 and let me know..

well you could of also taken to some crap shop tht could of half ass balnced it and gave it back to you. with out you knowing. i know the time down sucks but to have it done right is more important. even if you expected it earlyer. i have not seen one person say on any build thread any where tht they got wht they wanted whn they expected. its just part of building a motor.

had a long reply typed up and the automatice long erased it :(

point taken tommy.
bassicly what it come down to someone(s) droped the ball and made guy look bad poiting him between a rock and a hard place on this :(

as i understand it what couldnt get done right in 2 weeks is gettign done in less then 24 hours.

this is a basic build nothing fancy. line hone, bore "n honed, surfaced, balanced. lot less then what you got done tommy

they are still working on the block.

crank is balanced

lb7/lly are externally balanced vs lbz and newer are internally balanced. that was the main hick-up

hmm i was pretty sure mine was externally balanced as well  How come you had to go 40 over ? is tht wht it needed or did you just want the extra air ?
