They are regular GM bolts, but are 10.9 grade vs 8.9

i ordered the Ingersoll Rand 2115TiMAX, looks almost like my MatCo MT1769 1/2'', but 3/8''
as far as bolts go, turns out, Evan put a set of converter bolts in my rebuild kit, so i'm covered there, saves me tons of time and effort tracking them down, didnt even know they were there haha
Lol I thought those were the ones you broke I almost mentioned they were in the box.
You might can try a pick, the bolt might freely spin out. You never know till you try.
How accurate is it when you use the long extensions to torque the bolts down? Seems like you would lose alot in the extensions?
The bolts have that dry loctite on them, as well as a drop of regular loctite. I was just too paranoid about them rattling loose.
Doing it the 2nd time should go way fadter than the first, my down pipe is still off so i have acess to all the bell housing bolts on the passenger side of the truck, i just used a rarchet wrench on those, the other side i used a 30" extension, as for the getting the converter bolts, i read a thread on here actually, using an impact, 15mm 6point and an imoact rated universal(non u joint type) took them right out.
The most pain to me was the fuel lines in the way all the time, seriously considering just running rubber from the cooler
As well as being a hurry, i want to get it dine soon, but after i broke that bolt, i went thermal and had to just walk away, i ordered a 3/8 IR impact to help take it apart a little faster, need to clean the garage up some then start in on it again.
Good news is, if i have to ever do it again i wont be doing it on my back
If you manage to get the broken bolt out the threads will be damaged. It will be the weak bolt in your system.

No such thing as grade 10.9, metric bolts are in "classes". A class 10.9 is equivalent in strength to a standard size grade 8. And it's class 8.8 not 8.9
Losing torque transfer with extensions is more or less a myth. When you turn one end of the extension and it twists up, the tq doesn't just disappear, it comes out the other end. Now when using an impact drive that doesn't deliver a smooth tq output, the extension will release its twist and lose its tq transfer before the impact can deliver its next hit.
Carry on.
I disagree.
Put a 1/2 inch impact on a 24" 3/8 extension and hit the trigger. If the bolt is tight you will not break it loose. Switch to a 1/2 24" extension and it will break it loose. I have been doing this shit for 50 years. I have seen 3/8 extensions snap in half without moving the bolt. Try it some time with a breaker bar and you will see the skinny 3/8 twist.
Actually, it sounds like you agree with the second part. And I can't vouch for 3/8 drive parts on a 1/2in gun
I'm still trying to figure out how you broke the bolt off??
my plan was to just snug it up with my impact turned down, as i didnt think it would torque accuratly. that was obviously a poor decision
