The issue was the taps needed reset after you turned the power down. You have driven it enough now that it has learned and adjusted itself. Resetting the taps would have sped this whole process up. Glad to hear it's shifting good now.

So the taps need reset every time you flip the switch or it will shift funny? Weird I just never remember my Trans doing that when I use to play with the switch alot

Btw I'm visiting my buddy tonight so he can put the turbo brake tune on my truck while I'm there he is going to check my balance rates , also will he be able to tell if the tc is going bad or clutches slipping or anything with the tech2?

Anytime the power is changed (up or down) the trans will adjust itself to it. When you first reset the taps its in "fast learn", once it adjusts ifself to where its shifting well, it will change to "slow learn" mode. So if you were switching power all the time it was probably never setting in to slow learn mode therefore making rapid adjustments and changes to compensate.

You have probably already done a fair amount of damge to the trans. Not only from limping it from to much power, but also the constant switching of power because the trans never gets learned in and is always getting hit with something different. People would be much better off without the switchable tuning. But everyone thinks they need a "smoke tune" or a "lope tune" or a "tow safe tune" and its hard on transmissions, stock or built.

So say for instance you have the edge cs programmer can you not just leave it on level 3 for towing and daily driving etc or would that not be too hard on the transmission

Well went to see my buddy we hooked up the tech 2 and nothing was abnormal however I had been noticing my voltage gauge fluctuating for a while , we found that both battery grounds were loose, the Trans shifts great now

As long as you drive with sense when towing and know what to do, and what not to do, leaving it on one power level is the best thing for the transmission.

Voltage fluctuations and or ground issues will certainly cause lots of weird shifting issues. Glad you got it figured out. :)
