I think it would be excellent for cardio as well as get you cut up and defined . I typically start all my exercises with sets of 20 with medium weight, that gets the blood pumping to the muscle being worked , then add weight and reduce reps . I’m more about trying to maintain good form instead of going heavy and swinging with the body and all as I see many do at the gym .

Dude that’s the best part bout going back to the gym! I just want to walk past the guy swinging dumbbells to do curls and say “nice back workout”

Diet has run off the tracks, crashed and burned... I have no idea what I weigh currently and im not going near a scale:rofl: Holiday food and sporadic training has left me fluffy.

Hit some bench for the first time in a week. Wanted to just hit something heavy and then burn out with something light.

I have been hitting 295 7 reps consistently until the holidays arrived. Going to work on pushing it to 10 then 315 will be working weight... 405 and I have date in 2019.

last day of 2018 hit a 350 bench, equaling my best.
First day of 2019, 1 hour of Cycle bar rode 27 miles, burned 1400 calories, destroyed myself:rofl:

Hit a axle bar strict over head press pr 185x2. IIRC I have only hit 185 for a single on a regular bar bell.

Also broke down and climbed on the scale to ck the damage, 215... Not as bad as I thought :D

I’m hitting some sort of cardio 3 -4 times a week until I get tired of it.

How does the axle press compare to the normal OHP? I've been following a physiz program using DUP (their 8 week and 6 week is pretty much the same https://physiqz.com/powerlifting-programs/) and has a decent amount of OHP but was considering switching it with axle to prep for my first strongman competition.

But also not too sure how much OHP is helping out my bench...thoughts?

I believe in training like your going to compete. If your strongman comp uses an axle bar I would train that way exclusively and use other types of overhead as an accessory.

Both my bench and ohp are going up so I’m not sure which helps more I think they complement each other. I also want a strict 225 press so I’m pushing mine as hard as my bench.

Agreed. Axle bar is very different. Hand is more open and it will exploit any weakness you have in upper back and barpath. Odd object is no joke, and you can't train around it.
