A guy offered me to use his lifting straps so I took him up on it. Back to 365 got it off the floor 8 times wtf why haven't I bought these yet!
Then he says try my grips so I did but we put on 405 pulled it 4 times and with a rest pause I could have certainly got 5. Now I know I have to get some of these things, total game changer. This was at 228 pounds body weight.

bent rows, cable flys, light leg press (get blood flow in the right knee and hip), Cable lat pull downs, seated cable rows.

Lots of foam rolling and stretching. I.t. bands are wicked sore still, brought a tear to my eye rolling them:(:rofl:

Just smashed another squat PR today. 225x2!

Also started keeping a log and drinking my protein shake before/during the workout instead of after. Taking 2250 mg of Citrulline 30 min before leaving.


Your progressing nicely Chris, good job!

I'm not a big fan of straps... Can you use chalk at your gym? There are some tricks to grip that can preserve your hands see the vid below.

Thanks! It feels pretty damn good to be getting back in shape. Yes we can use chalk. I think Im gripping the bar too tight in my hand.

No need for straps until you get really heavy. A company called general leather craft out of Texas makes the best belts you can buy in my opinion. Most of the top powelifters are wearing them, they make some very affordable treated leather options that are the most bombproof things ever.

Nothing to write home about compared to you big bastards but I felt like the bar was calling to me tonight. So since I've got a bench and some weights at home I loaded em all on the bar and went for it. It was everything I had so I need more now.

Did 210x3 which is a new PR. Last max was 205x1 and I thought my eyeballs were gonna pop out so to push out 3 I'm pretty happy

I finally squatted moderately heavy again the other night.
Low bar Squats

315x3 was heavy but not staple me through the floor heavy. Right hamstring and knee felt a little weird after that set and decided not to continue with my planned 3x3.

Did a bunch of Isometric stuff tonight, oh what fun...:spit: then shot hoops for an hour in a half with the boy. I am down to 206ish From 215+ though so that is kinda nice. Haven't been that light in a while. Gonna start lifting again in another 3-4 weeks once I get the workout room finished.
