Henry95 starting strength is a 3 day per week program. If you really want to get into it look at buying a squat rack for your house.
Just nursing an old man back, oh the sins of my youth lol. I still have some unfinished goals I would like to accomplish. I got a 405 squat, 505 dead still missing a 350 bench. 340 for 9 singles is the best I could muster during one training cycle. When it came time to max out I just didn't have it. Those were my short term goals. Now it's just get my back healthy so I can go after a 500 squat 405 bench and 600 dead, possibly get an invite to the USAPL world team in the masters class.Albert I quit lifting so heavy and am down from 200ish to 180. Doing more conditioning, pull ups etc. Nothing too exciting. How about you ?
Stretch and foam roll Brock. Take it easy on them if there that bad.Struggling with going and doing legs right now....trying to find the motivation to get all my stuff prepped. They hurt so bad for a few days...stupid hamstrings can barely move when I'm done

Need some background. What kind of gym do you have, what are your calorie/macros for a week, how active are you? etc etc.Ok guys. Totally a newb to this shit.
Just wanting to cut some weight down. What are are you guys doing to do so. How many calories a day? Not trying to do anything crazy. Weighing in at 236 as of now. Would like to be 210 or so.

You'll need to start tracking your daily activity. As Albert said to me maybe 6 months ago that fitness tracker like a fitbit will help alot as far as giving you an idea of how active you are. Tract what you eat with myfitnesspal...it's an app.Ok guys. Totally a newb to this shit.

Calorie is a measure of energy from food.No gym really. Not looking to really bulk up just lose weight.
What's calorie/macro? Sorry
I would say I'm decently active.

Cried are broken down into macro nutrients
Macro nutrients=macros for short
Macros are protein, carbohydrates, fats
1 gram of protein=4 cals
1 gram of carbs= 4 cals
1 gram of fat= 9 cals
Tractk your weight when you get up after going piss for a week or 2. Start tracking what you eat and how much. This will tell you where your macros are and we can help you adjust accordingly
I'm currently trying to out on weight so im taking in 31-3400 cals a day on training days and 28-2900 on rest days.
Hope that makes sense. All these veteran lifters will correct me where and if I'm wrong and give you way more knowledge.

I'm far from a badass but thank you Jason. Don't worry about the weight so much but get your form perfect first, then add weight slowly. Gotta take your ego out of the equation. I have to tell myself that every time I squat right now...Lol, I hear that!
Albert, you're a badass!
As Im approaching 40 I'm realizing that 22 years of soccer hasn't been kind to my knees...And I've got some weird ligament issue on the inside of my right knee from it that I was told I needed surgery for, 18 years ago
Finally got my bench and squat rack set up...its just a Golds Gym XRS 20, anyways, started out squats with about 225 and nailed it for 6 with ease, so I loaded all of my 300lbs on the 72" bar and got 4 before my knees were shaking and burning... Not sure what my form was like, should probably video myself, I know I could get deeper but I don't have a spotter and I'm skurrd too.Today the knees are sore and feel a little flimsy, my hammies are pissed and there's a tinge in my taint, lol. Hit 225 on the bench for 1, barely got it...pretty glad that the bench has safety catches/ghost spotter bars...think my PR from HS was 245, so I'm good with that, for now
Brock nailed it. Basically by tracking your macro nutrients for a couple weeks we should be able to see where we can trim here and there to help with weight loss. Don't worry about what your the app says to do just track your daily intake for a bit.No gym really. Not looking to really bulk up just lose weight.
