Dont know that I can agree that its a "good place" Corbin, but I can say that there are good people living in crummy places, all over the world ;)
Casper Wyoming is one of those places...hahaha

There's some beautiful landscape there, fer sure, but the weather is unruley and more often than not, just down right NASTY

Okay Brock, I looked at your squats and deads. Your form looks pretty good from what I can see, best angles are from the side at hip height. It looks like your getting up on your toes some on your squat. You want to stay in your mid foot to heels, never the toes. The barbell also needs to stay directly over your mid foot heel area. The forward lean your getting in your squat can be aggravating your back. I can't tell in the vid but are you using low bar or high bar? High bar will help you stay more vertical (less tension on the low back)

Your dead looks fine, only a couple small tweaks. I like to teach neutral spine, so keep the head lined up with the rest. I look straight out and slightly down, never up and never straight down. Try to keep your shins more vertical to the bar, sit back and use your quads more and try and finish the lock out at the same time or at least slow the leg lock out to be closer with bringing your hips through. Shouldn't have 2 completely separate movements, knees lock then hips come through, try and make it more one movement.

Clear as Mud?:D

Yes sir clear as mud. I'd say it more of a high bar. It sits about center of my trap muscles...main reason being if I set it up higher on the traps it rests over my incision from left shoulder surgery and makes it burn like a mofo...same deal any lower and I can't get my left arm to go back far enough comfortably due to loss in the range of motion from said surgery. If need be I can get another video of squatting as i do it tomorrow.

Deads I have zero teaching on so that all makes fairly good sense. I feel like I'm going to have to start with bar only and get the form down in order to not have the forward lean with the chins and locking knees then locking hips. I'll get the wife to shoot another one and have you compare.

Very curious as to what Matt has to say as well.

Thank you for the constructive criticism Albert...much appreciated

When I'm coming up out of the whole? Yes, i mean sometimes I come up and reset totally as I feel I've got to much forward lean. Would crap mobility in the hips and hamstrings add to that?

Possibly... We need to get you onto your mid foot/heels. Are your feet straight forward or angled out, how wide apart are your feet?

Angled out. Inside of my toes is probably 2-3" wider than the inside edge of the hells. Feet are 12-15" apart at the heels and 18"ish apart at the toe area. I did point my toes further than I normally and widen my stance a few inches and that seemed to shift more weight back. Maybe I need to open my stance up a bit more?

Think I figured it out. Toes were to pointed out. Also put my Nike shox on as they aren't squishy in the heel and give me more of a slope if that makes sense. Almost no knee shake and I'm loading my heels and mid foot vs rocking up on my toes.

Lifts look pretty decent to me, and like Albert pointed out, you seem to be leaning forward which isn't the end of the world. A high bar OLY squat will always load quad more and have more knee travel IMO so if thats how you wanna squat, I wouldn't open your stance that much past shoulder width. Other than that, you mentioned you don't like low bar cause of shoulder pain? Have you tried spreading your hands out farther? And or, trying a thumbless grip on the bar too. With the OLY squat you should be able to flex your traps and hold the bar without really needing much arm engagement.

If you are def liking the high bar squats, grab a set of heeled OLY shoes, you will love life. :D Just be very careful to stretch a lot and watch your IT band, invest in a foam roller and use if daily. I started squatting with a close stance high bar setup and found that switching to PL style lessened the quad soreness and knee tightness.

Work on nailing your walkout now whiles its lighter weight, get it down to second nature. When its heavier weights you will thank yourself.

Da fuk is th PL? I know oly is Olympic lifting shoes and I want some of those adidas...can't remember the name but they are around 180-190. I stretch a shit ton as I'm not a flexible guy so once I start to get tight I have to play catch up. Next few days will be hell

I'd definitely say it's high bar. Don't mind the extreme whiteness and spare tire lol uploadfromtaptalk1459628784704.jpg

Take a look at this Vid Brock. There is no one best way to squat, you just need to find what works best for your leverages bud.
