Thanks Albert and Nick for the help! I really want to get this right. This video is from this morning. I spent a good 20 reps just focusing on form with 135 on the bar. That first video Albert posted was a big help. Everything I was doing was wrong. Lol. My chin wasn't tucked, my shoulders weren't back enough, etc. See what you think this time. It felt much better. I didn't feel like I was using my lower back as much. Way more glutes & quads! :thumb:

Much better Chris! Keep the weights lighter and focus on the form, heavy weight comes later, with no trips to snap city:hug: I read somewhere it takes like 3-400 reps to ingrain a motor pattern and like 3-4000 reps to break a bad one...

At the end of the first video you posted, he says the same thing. I might try to do deads twice a week at light weight to train my muscle memory.

So I jumped into high bar squats last week with a little to much zeal... I went up to 315 it felt pretty good but made my back pretty angry the next day up until yesterday.

First day back in the gym in a bit...

Decided to not tempt fate anymore and i was still walking with lead in my pencil.
Stretched and rolled felt pretty decent but weak... Stepped on the scale heading out of the gym covered in sweat in shorts, socks and a tank 206 on the money:thumb: No wonder I felt weak, my bench always takes the biggest hit when I drop weight. Hell with It, I gotta look pretty like Corbin and Waid:hug:

Found a program to try. 12 weeks. Jim Stoppani shortcut to size. Day 1 my chest and arms are smoked but I hit a wall midworkout. Gotta get some bcaa so I can keep going

That's a great workout, I've done it multiple times throughout the years.

Actually one of the first workouts I ever did. Was thinking to myself the other day I need to do it again when I can get more time at the gym

Yea my triceps and chest are sore this morning. We got 12" of snow last night and still got 6" more to go so now I'm taking a break from shoveling...let me tell ya how much that sucks right now lol

Been a rough couple weeks for me, had to put down my dog and thats never easy. :(

But, decided to try to workout today, other than being slower than normal, finished it.

Thanks Albert, it was time, he was 15 and starting to have his body finally shut down on him.

I'm such a wuss with critters anymore, I made the wife take our Yorkie in a few years ago to be put down because I wasn't man enough...

Sounds like he had a nice long life.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your little buddy. I put down 2 of my dogs...one the shitty way out at the ranch. I have a hard time wanting another animal after that due to the pain that comes with losing them.


So did calves Monday with chest and triceps. Felt fine until and hr ago. Started stretching so I could warm up and get loose and do some HIIT cardio on the treadmill, bam out of nowhere they went rock hard and I can barely stand up right now it hurts so effing bad. I dunno wtf happened but it can f off. Put some icy hot on them to try and get them cold then hot and I'll try and massage em out. Need em to cooperate as tomorrow is shoulders, traps, and calves again


Oh and anyone care to evaluate my videos? I can trim the squat one down to 30 sec so I can send it
