ok heres some more videos of me driving it on the road. The acceleration videos are kinda rolling into it slowly, no boosted launches or mashing it right off the line because I dont wanna blow up my rear axle. I let off around 55mph because it gets to be a handful driving with one hand (the other is holding the camera) above that speed. Without a boosted launch or anything fancy, it seems like its about 6 seconds flat 0-60, I guess. Not bad considering the gearing and huge tires. It looks slow in the video but when you are riding in it, trust me its fast. :joker:

Tranny could use a shift kit...shifts are kinda loosey goosey. Then again that could also be because I dont have the kickdown solenoid (remember this is a TH400, there is no TV cable) hooked up??? I have no idea, mike would have to answer that one.

Also, I dont have the brake or clutch pedal position switches hooked up to the PCM, so it thinks the brakes are always applied, and the clutch pedal is always pushed in (I know my beetle is auto, but im using a manual trans calibration in the PCM). So its also pulling a little bit of power due to those things/confusion.

Very nice but it sounds like you need a little dynamat in there. :D

The other bug in front of your garage looks nice too. Mid to late 60's?

its a 1967 (very desirable year, first year of 12v electrics, 1500cc, last year of the old style bumpers, seats, and door handles), I restored it when I was like 13 or so...but its just been sitting for the past 2 years or so, I am trying to sell it, as I dont need 2 beetles...I even had 3 at one time haha.

I always wanted a '63 with a soft top sunroof but I am 6'4" so getting into the 50's and 60's model bugs is a little tight (leg room). For now, I will stick with working on my truck and eventually making it my hot rod. Hope to get a 57 Chevy later down the road (probably have to wait until after I retire though).

Keep up the good work!
