I think my RDL up pipes are worth the money, I'm sure they are good for around .1-.2 off 1/4 time. Just looking at them you can tell they will flow better than stock, they have smoother and longer bends to them and larger ID on the bellows.

Matt larson picked up 30 hp on the dyno , 2 week span between runs, same dyno only change were up-pipes .

they will not drop .10 to .20 off your times, i would bet that.

I did back to back comparison with RDL up pipes being only mod to truck. Differences between two were .05 slower 60ft, 1/2 tank more fuel and 20* warmer outside. Truck ran the same time even with these elements working agains it, I would think the 1/2 tank more fuel and 20* difference would more than make up the other .05 to make it at least .10 faster.

Thats what sucks about comparing the runs when things change out of your control, need to have everything the same to get a true reading.

Anything to help with more exhaust flow is going to help. You guys that dynoed with these how much torque did you pick up along with the hp and where did you see the gains?

look im not trying to take anything away from the up pipes, i think they are great and i want some, but some say they help a lot and others dont. i know nathan said he made some and only saw a little increase in roll on spoll up, and he said rob made back to back passes with and without them and saw no gain or soomething small like a 5 psi drop in drive pressure. same et. i was just going off that. i hope when i get some that they gain me 30 hp or .1 to .2 tenths.

Another way to ask the question is has anyone seen a decrease in EGT's from running the up pipes?

This may not be a valid question on the track, but for on the daily driven truck?

I think it will take both the up pipes and different manifolds or headers to get benifits or any noticable gains in hp.

from what i have heard this is not true at all... up pipes will give you the biggest SOTP difference.

I guess the question to the guys that run just the up pipes is how much mph did you gain running them? That will give us a better idea of the hp.

I didn't think they'd help as much as they did either, just stating the facts from my application.

I gained .4mph on a day that is 20* warmer and with ~13 more gallons of fuel in the truck, not sure how much 13 gallons of fuel weighs or how much it would affect mph.

92-93 lbs and should affect ET by .05

91 lbs, or about +.05 on your ET.

My understanding is this: Warmer air isnt as dense as cool air...so less volume per lb of boost.

I ran the up pipes with the Bd manifold then switched to the RDL headers with bigger up pipes. There is definitely a difference on spool up and upper rpm power. When I have the firm numbers I will post that info for you all.
