As some may have heard or seen, my race truck went up in flames on my second pass at Byron Dragway this past Saturday. I know the fire started at the rear of the engine and continued to the left side of the motor, burning up to the rear of the transmission, through the firewall to all the wires under dash and the carpet. Almost everything on the left side of the engine is melted. I'm hoping the body will be fine. I do know the firewall and frame will need to be repaired and painted. I haven't had enough time to look the truck over and start stripping it down so I don't know what started the fire. Thank you to all who have contacted me asking if I'm okay and offering help!
A special shout out to Mayeda Motorsports ( Vincent Mayeda) and DJ Safety for the safety gear that kept me cool enough to walk away uninjured and a huge thanks to the safety crew at Byron Dragway who saved the truck from being a total loss.
