Years ago on the Place there was a discussion about the "other" filters. I think the holes in the top are set differently and it affected flow? God, its been a long time. Not sure if anyone had cut them apart to check media though. I personally have always run the red filters. Never thought to use another brand.

You'll probably have to ask Mike what he thinks. That would be the best idea.

Thanks guys. These trans have no magnets, just a flat piece of alum and a threaded nipple in the center..

These engine oil filters however have a little seal down inside the threads ya gotta oil up.. Cut old one open and had a messed up seal from last install. No drainback, no bypass option in HP6 base if ya need that.

Wix do look good installed, instructions up on both even.. lol.

Ok made good progress today getting all the wiring and stuff tidied up around transmissions. Noe I gotta figure out how to mount this magnetic pickup within .050 off this reluctor ring on a driveshaft yoke..

So far I've cane up with a 22mm x1.5 thread pitch axle nut, and some copper shims...

Found a spare piece of the driveshaft loop kit with same bolt hole pattern. Cut a couple pieces off and hogged out the holes for adjustments. Welded to the nuts and time to see where they fall.

Wrapping up the TCM stuff tonight. Pillaged the spare harness box for a few oem connectors. Also testing some of these handy dandy low-temp solder in heat shrink connectors. So far, worth the $.

Loaded the TCMs with a trademarked "dumb as a brick" tune. Basically disabled every table and all DTC's so it doesn't try to torque limit or set a MIL.

I'd do it. As long as your fit is pretty good without too much slop it will likely hold for a long time. Oh, and of course both surfaces are cleaned up real good and receive a light sanding

PS: the shielding on your sensor harness looks disconnected 😛

Ok Stbd engine and trans fired right up, everything checks out. And the Loctite, so far so good..

Driveshaft speed sensor works great. However, one slight issue arose that I'd actually considered for a moment some time ago. But after long time internet searching, thought I had all sorted out. Damn tooth count on the transfer case tone rings are wrong, and there is no table to change that in T42 OS currently listed under EFIlive... 🤮

Input shaft speed is reading 1.603 faster all the way up the scale. Output shaft speed is off by more.. For data logging I can deal with it, custom pid to correct it. However for further development, think it's gonna require some deeper hacking..

Looks like he has what appears to be a 40 tooth sprocket. That means he would have to remove one tooth for every 2.66 teeth. Doesn't look good. Going to need to hack the software or get a new sprocket. Even if you where to remove all the "appropriate" teeth. The inconsistent gap between each tooth will probably play havock on the brains trying to control it
