Since the T42 doesn't have input for an actual line pressure sensor, I'll probably use em for a short period to check output shaft speed. Just lock out all the DTCs so it can't limp the ECM.

On the bench I have a T87, but can't find the pinout to see if those have a 0-5v sensor line.

Found something to do inside, and work off those 4 ears of salted butter I had for dinner..

Took a whole 50 calories to get the T42 TCM up and talking.. Things looking like communicate pretty easy. Gonna go for a jog now I guess..

If getting the TCM working proves too much of a headache, you could always build a simple frequency to DC voltage converter to provide a DC signal to the V2 to log with. Something like this:

Getting a TCM to work with this setup would be very impressive too.

Played with em for a couple hours last night, think these will work out with a bit of tuning. Feeding them a fake generated pulse signal on both speed sensors, and only 3 codes. Next, hook up the bench ECM and see if they play nice together.

Gotta love GM, they foreseen what I was doing before I even thought of it...

Got the transfer case tone rings fitted on the yokes. Will tack em once we mount the pickups. Had full intention to mount trans back up today, but woke up with chills, shakes, 101f temp. So spent half day in a line to get a rapid covid test. I've failed 3 times now, so hopefully I feel well enough to stand back and bark orders tomorrow.

Thanks guys. Hopefully those little changes put the drive issues to rest for a while. The 75/90 that came out of the Stbd gearcase was pretty crappy looking, and you could stand it up with a magnet. But no bearing noise or play on the shafts when spinning by hand. So going with,, those sraight cut gears are probably a little thinner than when we started.. Cause they were certainly screaming in some of the videos. Tomorrows plan is try and get the tranny's back in..

No freaking clue.. Why I ask... LOL

I forgot where I bough the last ones. Hit the local parts stores while out, best anyone had was the wix. I'm running Wix on the engines by choice, but have zero experience with Allison transmission filters. Both oil filters are white and easy to spot now. :geek:
