Come give me a hand wrapping up these small jobs so it gets there before river freezes over..

Seriously need this puppy on the water and checked out before a 300 mile poker run first of Nov. So call out to anyone who can lend a hand couple days, expenses covered.

Don't miss your opportunity to take a ride, in this hemisphere !

Hmmm.. you working Monday?

Charge tubes done.

Thanks MarkB for the design help. If they fail, I won't feel near as bad now..

Those housings come threaded with a v-band collor and Teflon o-ring. Odd setup, and I was waiting on a SS piece to weld to that bellows. It never materialized, so we cut the alum v-band ring down in lathe.

However the second ring gaulded threads upon tacking, making the choice to weld those to compressor outlets much easier.. Thus making me wonder, then why the he'll ya thread that outlet to begin with???

Reason you inspect everyone else's work if your smart, cause they might have missed a dime size chunk of casting slag in the compressor housing..

Luckily the aluminum dust left over from machining process made me pull both covers to find it...

Hit em with a polishing ball while apart, now they're ready to bolt on.

What to do when ya realize somebody forgot to tighten a transmission line in a spot you can barely see, never less reach??

Noticed a drip in the bilge under STBD trans and thought I'd better check while can still get to it. Fired up the engine, ran through all the gears, and sure enough the fitting dead center front of the pan is the source. It's a low pressure return line, with no way to reach it besides pulling the transmission pan.

So before spending two hours standing on my head, I hit up a buddy for a tool I haven't used since GM stopped running distributors. A crowfoot. And lucky for me, he had a metric line wrench set..

Add 24" of wobble extensions, and the 18mm was just loose enough to easily slide over the 11/16 hydraulic hose end, but not slip. Got a good half turn on it, problem resolved under 3 minutes.. Probably be another 20 years before I need one again...

How is everyone doing LB7 injector lines without a crows foot? Does everyone just guess on the torque, or use the old pull-on-a-wrench-with-a-spring-scale trick? I always use a crows foot to tighten them up, works really nice.

Having the right tool can make all the difference, though. Looks like that job would've sucked without it.
