Yeah Mark thinks it has another 100hp in these sticks, but I don't see it. Injector balance seems way off, and the stanless pipe colors show it. We just tossed some SS lbz 100 over tips on there to try and clean up exhaust mid range day one. Probably should have gone a little bigger..

If anyone close to Indi has a set of +200's or comparable setting around, I'd love to rent em for the day...

Ok I stand corrected.. ya can make 900hp on 100 over sticks.. with proper turbo.

But GM lml head gaskets won't take it..

Pic of the day.

Would it help to get cooler air to your intake? Seems like you might get more heat with the intake so close to the engine, compared to potentially how it would be installed real world? Might give you lower temps = a little more power? Like maybe put a 5' pipe on the intake to get slightly cooler air away from the engine/exhaust temps?

She blew a big spit out of the radiator cap at about 3700r so we called it a day. Had a gauge on it, and it went from 5psi to 20 in a half second. That coolant doesn't boil till 370F, and she was reading 175 on the logs..

Here is the seawater pump flowing at idle. What it takes to knock down those 500F compressor discharge temps, oil cooler, main engine heat exchanger, plus cool the exhaust pipes. This volume times about 4 at WOT.

1-1/2" -24AN discharge hose.
What is the ∆T in the seawater side under load? Or was it not something you needed to measure?

In above post [10-26-2018 04:57 PM] I attached the wrong images from my phone. Once I offloaded everything to my PC this weekend, I noticed the difference.

The images above showed pull #1361 data using a standard correction vs #1360 with no correction. So the difference looks larger than it actually was. The true gain was a clean 50hp across the board, and about 3psi boost.

See uncorrected data comparison below, along with stand alone graph of #1361

Still a nice difference between the cartridges with no other changes to tuning,

What were the specs on the two turbos tested?

Hey Josh! It was a Bullseye Street billet S475/87 1.0T6 versus and NLX Ball Bearing S475/87 same turbine housing. Turbos that are actually going on the boat will be the NLX S476/87 SS V-band 1.0Ar housings for space and packaging purposes and the SS turbine housings are going to get water jacketed also so they will look just like the shiny headers do! The 476's are worth about 7% more air flow over the 475's with everything thing else being equal. This was literally a month of pure hell that Ken and I went through to get to this point but we both learned a lot with it! I definitely want to ride in it now for some fine tuning in the correct environment...

Maybe I over looked it, lot of info.... But what's the plan for the out drives to hold up to that diesel torque? Gotta be higher then the bbcs right?

Using a couple bone stock Bravo One's...

Actually I just dropped drives off at boat today. Pair of Wisemann WMD units currently running a 1.16:1 gear ratio.
http://www.weismannmarine.com/index.php/products

Rated at 1600ft-lb, run fully surfaced, and recently came off a 50' boat with twin 1700hp turbines. So these little diesels should be pretty easy on em.

Nice thing is, they have all straight cut gears, and came with bunch of different ratios. So we have bunch of options depending on how much load we wanta put on the engines.
