This was a budget build. The tubing cost $35 total, if I have a problem w/ rust then Ill make a new set and coat them.

Just a though on the pipe's if you aren't a good welder.....Use a grinder and a flap wheel, smooth them out and you won't be able to tell.

exactly. Even if you are a good welder this is the method I would use.

Use the grinder to get it the weld down for the most part, then switch to the flap wheel to smooth it out. Then grab the welder and fill in any holes. Doing this is the best way to find potential leaks also.

If you like me and have allergies, make sure to wear a mask. For some reason those Zirconium Oxide flap wheels really irritate me.

A good welder will never go near their welds with a grinder! Like painting your truck and taking a brillow pad to it. If I have a bad spot in a weld that needs grinding I cut it appart and start over. You should be able to tell if you have a leak while your welding. If there is concern then cap one end and fill with water. A hydro-static test will show leaks that the eye can not see.

....I'm sure that most of us fall in the hobbyist category and would prefer to smooth out the booger welds!!!!

Practice is the best thing to improve welding in my limited experience. I started with the DVD that came with my welder adn then went about wending scap together. Last summer I built a go cart frame for the neighbor kid and it came out pretty bitchin. That kid beats the snot out of it and nothing has cracked, so I think I've got it down halfway decent. :D

Nice job on the homemade twins! That's more of an undertaking than I'd be willing to try! Can't wait to hear how it runs.

yes they will, there are certain applications where you need to smooth out the welds.

Sometimes just for looks, othertimes for regulations.

For example, the railings we build are all required to have every single weld ground smooth and flat no matter what part of the railing it is on. this means a lot of time wwith the dynafile. This is a regulation, there is no way around it.

What is high pressure powdercoating...never heard or it:confused:
Just hook up the PVC for a few miles and a thin coat of oil will stop rusting. In all reality they won't rust. There is enough oil on the damn filter to stop them from rusting.
was a joke
