just being a curious cat right now, just popped into my mind, (lots of stuff does when you are rebuilding your motor:D) didn't do any research, sorry, but what would be a good turbo to compound with my stocker?? not looking for crazy hp, just lower egt's and great street performance! would do all the pipe fab work myself... what would the turbo cost?

thanks!!!!!

This should work quite well for what you are saying. Plus it is sized quite well and doesn't need a gate. I've put a couple on Duramaxes and a few on some cumminGs and haven't seen a problem or falure with one.

I thought ive read on here a few times that a turbo with a t6 flange is the best for a twins setup and both turbos listed above appear to be t4 flange. I only know what ive read so curious to know all the possibilities.

So will a t4 flange turbo work okay in a twin turbo setup with the stock turbo as the small charger or is t6 the way to go?

It will work either way just will affect how fast the bottom turbo lights, S400 can be had in both T4 and T6, personally for twins id use a t6 for a big single Id use a T4, a GT45 should work fine with a T4 also, It is similar to the GT42

Most people use 3" tubing. 3" tubing has a surface area of about 7" sq. Most T4 flanges are around 5.5" sq. Most T6 flanges are around 8.5" sq. Velocity spools turbos. Why someone would want the gass to slow down as it enters the turbo is beyond me:confused: But to each their own, maybe its the bigger is better theory. As you add bends to a piece of tubing the flow goes down, so in all actuallity 3" tubing and a T4 flange are a perfect match. This all goes out the window if you use 3 1/2" tubing. But its pointless to use 3 1/2" tubing untill you have about a 90mm exducer on the turbine wheel of you small turbo. (That would be something like a GT45 as a small turbo)
