My fender liner is nowhere even close to fitting with the new twin kit. Trying to figure out what to do with it. Anyone have pics of trimmed or reshaped fender liners to share?

I don't have a pic, but I used a heat gun and molded it the best I could around the downpipe. It ended up hitting the down pipe and melting it around the heat wrap. Which actually worked out well because I cleaned up the melted edges trimmed a little extra off and now all you see is a little heat wrapped pipe sticking out of my fender :thumb:

I tried the heat gun technique.. Got mad and took a razor to it and made a little window.. If you stay on city streets that's fine. I did a lot of dirt road and my downpipe stayed nasty

I'll be doing mine this week and the plan is to heat the piss out of it then put some of that silver heat deflector pads on the fender. Also heat wrap on the dp.

Mines gone. i have one on the shelf i keep thinkin of trying to make work. that down pipe gets hot towing and finally melted in half when i was towing brian back from ABQ long while back.

always ment to try the heat gun idea and line the fender by the pipe with heat tape, its just not a high priority yet.

It takes a lot of patience to mold it. That being said... I cut mine. lol Just take your time with a heat gun, and you will be able to shape it. You'll like it better than cutting it.

Cut a window and make a sheet medal pan secure it to the plastic liner with pop rivets.

I used a heat gun and didnt think it was hard to do. But I had my old melted fender and laid it over the new one and lined out the melted area so I new were to push. I also put down some reflective heat tape.
It has been holding strong for a year and a half.

Don't have a pic but mine fits good. Be sure to use a 1/2 ton inner fender. They are smaller than the hd's. I trimmed some and used a torch to mold it then used sheet metal screw.

I have to run a liner, the roads up here a are so filthy that my engine bay would be wrecked... Besides the runs to the lower 48 I have made through Canada...

In Az though you might be able to get away with it. However you seem to be the kind of guy that likes his stuff clean.

Jacobs liner looks pretty nice:thumb:
