What are your plans with the truck? What are your goals?

I dont do too much towing so im not real worried about losing towing capabilities but i will tow stuff every now and then but nothin heavy though. I just want a fast reliable truck that i can take out to the dragstrip when i want and can drive almost every day and not worry about it breaking down on me. If i do a basic motor build is there a turbo that can give me good power but wont be too hard on the motor so that i can still have it as my daily driver

what kind of times are you looking to run at the track ? if you truly want a no comprimise truck then twins are the only way to go , but there is something about a big single that is just cool . probably cause not everyone has the balls to do it :D i dont , not willing to give in other area's .

Im lookin to run high 11's at the track fully loaded. Thats my goal for right now at least.

So Cal.
Our cc/sb LBZ shop truck ran a 11.7X with a 40/94 turbo kit, dual fuelers, Hot +2 e.t., lift pump, built trans and intercooler. The truck weight was on the skinny side. If you want to do it a full weight You will need some injectors or more turbo...

How long will a stock motor last with dual fuelers?

HAHA. How long it won't last! Stay away from dual fuelers with a stocker. You can get very low 12's with a stock motor and the right charger and be safe

Haha i know thats a big no no but i was curious if it would last, but ya i want to run low 12's and id like to keep my stock motor intact.

Paint and I just went 12.3x on a 4094 and trans so it is possible

Niceeee. I hope to get to there. I wanna run the GT4202 like Pat was talkin about but im worrried about my motor being able to handle it. It can be "detuned" enough to where its still fast but its not gonna destroy my motor right?

it is possible to go low 12's with the stock motor but i wouldnt call it safe you, myself and many others are teadering right on the edge of the stock rods . many have had failers at less hp , and many have gone faster and got away with it . the deal is and i know you know but for others that might not once you go above 500 hp there are no garentee's and if you cant deal with that risk and the expense of the outcome ya better tune it down . just my opinion

It's pushing it but tuned right you can make it live for quite some time..You start running a lot of timing and you'll blow something up quick.
Mine has always been tuned with lower timing just cause I don't want to kill my motor and timing and fuel will do that.
If you run the 4094 you will have a lot more drivability and you won't have to raise your operating range so you will save your motor for longer...Then you still won't have to do something twice because when you do finally decide to build your motor and go with big horsepower you can just give your gt40 a friend to play with under the hood

Ya ill have to look into that and see which option would be the best. Both the 4202 and the 4094 sound like good chargers but the Cheetah is still an option in my mind.

I have ran many 12.4s and a handful of 12.3s on a 68mm Cheetah with a single stock CP3, trans, and 90hp injectors. At these power levels all it takes is one casting or forging flaw in a part to cause failure so just because some one was lucky enough to get a motor with all good parts and run dual fuelers and/or 11s don't count on yours doing the same.

If you go with the 4094 and twin it with a 4718 they work perfect... a cheetah in a twin application from what i've read could be too much for the Cheetah.
