I know exactly what your saying Josh. When I first had my charger installed I had the same issue, lugging 6th gear, especially trying to pass a car. I would have to drop to M and manually shift to 5th and it would spool and go then. I have a trans tune now that takes less throttle input to downshift from 6th to 5th. Probably about 15-20% and it downshifts. This would be annoying with a stock or quick spooling smaller charger but with this big single it works great. Not to speak for Russell, but since I talk to him on a regular basis about his truck, I feel I know where he is coming from. I don't think he has a problem at all with the way it spools from a stop or rolling around with the converter locked. I think his biggest gripe is when he is driving around at about 65-70 MPH with a locked converter in 6th with the engine lugging along at about 1600-1700 RPM. When he rolls into it, the turbos just don't respond like he's used to with a stock turbo. I think he's just wanting to see how a big single and other larger non stock turbo setups compare to his. Sorry if I'm out of line here, Russell.
I know on my old set of twins (366/4718), they really seemed to come alive around 1800 RPM, but I also had an aftermarket cam and a T3 gated 366 instead of a T4 non gated 366 like he has. Personally, I think he would be a little happier with the T3 housing.
Here's rolling into it in 5th with the TCC locked. The turbo never lights and I'm doing almost 80 when I let off. I was trying to not make it downshift and I ended up around 80% throttle.
Turbo is a Bullseye s375/87/.90 with a billet wheel and 3.0 cover.

suspension issues so you can tell ow it lites every bounce!
Spool up is amazing now! After driving it over the weekend. Huge difference! With my inexperience I guess I just never realized there was something out of wack like that.
Cruising in 6th at 1600-1700 and you can just roll into it no prob, lights and goes.
Definitely a lot more torque down low, rods are going to be doing the limbo.
Poor JoshH was all over the tuning. With the waste gate cracked open all the time it was like spooling 1 huge turbo, and his tuning had it pretty friggin good...now the tuning with the waste gate fixed is just flat retarded bada$$! Light puff of smoke and its off like a rocket!! Huge thanks to Josh for helping so much!
Cool, just ordered my turbo for the twins last week
Russ are you running a Back-pressure gauge? I am debating where to waste-gate or not. I have less fuel and will not be pushing it as hard....
