Looking for a new turbo(s) set up. I like the MPI twin setup which I know passes emissions in Idaho however wanted some feedback on whether or not it would in Cali. I also love the Cheetah after seeing/feeling it in Johnny's Kodiak. But have also heard good reviews on the 4094. So as you can tell my mind is kind of going a bunch of different directions when it comes to a turbo purchase however, because it's a big purchase that will also require purchasing new tuning to go along with it I am torn at this moment. I read Pat's thread about "Which Turbo Is Right for Me" but still haven't made my mind up. Any advice anybody? Keep in mind right now I'm running stock internals, stock CP3, ADII, and SC V. Thanks in advance.

If you want around 650hp with your current setup and are worried about emissions testing i would say MPI Twins will work for you, since it utilizes the stock turbo you can remove the 2nd turbo and other hardware fairly easy... i love my 4094 spools great, makes solid power, and EGT's are low....

I would go with either the HTT or a 4094.

twin it. all roads lead to twins. for the most part

not really true... twins are great but not in everyones budget or say they want to go twins in the future could buy the small turbo and then buy a large turbo when they are ready

My only issue with twins is 1. Money and 2. Although the plumbing can be removed when they do an under the hood inspection won't they notice the battery relocation/any other mods you have to do for the twin setup

You will spend two days working on the twins so that would not be pleasant for smog inspections. Check your local laws closely and decide from there. The HTT is the basis for the bigger twin kit and you will be happy with its performance. You can get about 700 rwhp from one with all the right stuff (twin cp3s, built engine,etc.).

Nice..I've heard 600 give or take a few ponies is about the highest you'd want to take the stock internals to. So the HTT will get me there? Also running a turbo like that will I need dual CP3s to boot?

I just installed my HTT Promax and absolutely love it. It is wastegated, and keeps you from having to worry about a wastegate on the small turbo if you ever decide to go with big twins (that is my plan eventually) :D.

Check with Kat here on HTT pricing. My tuning skills are non-existant so I wanted to purchase the turbo from someone who could get me started with some good tunes. Make sure your turbo vendor will give you some new tunes for the turbo you purchase.

I can't comment on emissions issues, here all diesels are exempt, but looks wise if the guy does not know what he is looking at, the HTT "appears" pretty much stock (not really, but for a typical gasser IM guy, he may not know the difference).

If you run dual CP3's depending on truck weight, you may get into the tall 11's. Without duals, you may be able to keep your stock rods straight longer

Pat had a sticky on turbos at the top of Turbo Talk, have you seen that post? It is pretty informative on all the different options.

I'll have to check it out again. Read it once just need to re read to weigh options. And yeah I'd prefer not to shorten the rods that quickly so maybe I'll stick to single fueler for now. Although I've hears LBZ rods hold up decently in higher HP apps so maybe I'll look around for a set of those when we cross that bridge
