Turbine housing size difference in compounds

Thinking about swapping a smaller turbine housing in place of the 1.32 T6 on my primary turbo, will a smaller housing be different in size as far as the flange being shorter or taller from the centerline of the turbine bore that will affect fitment of the hot pipe?

I believe what you looking to get a 1.10ar or equivalent and if so that would be a t4 housing so yes the hot pipe flange would need a t6 to t4 adaptor.

I know there the same Brian, I was referring to the flange potentially being in closer on a smaller a/r housing than the 1.32 housing & having a potential gap at the end of the hotpipe

I have swapped them 2 housings on a couple kits I built. They are direct matches on inlet and outlet locations

Ill report back in a couple weeks
a couple weeks turned into 4 months
finally swapped housings yesterday, it does spool quicker with the 1.10 but the egts climb alot faster as expected. I dont know what the exhaust pressure is, I gave up dealing with the soot clogging up the line & eventually getting into the gauge.

I just swapped mine over Sunday night to a 1.10 housing. Bolt up, no issues.

Spool up and part throttle are much better and super clean. From a standing launch no boost, I can't tell sotp any change but if you are cruising with any boost it comes right up if you get in the throttle.

What I noticed before was the small turbo would come up and almost hesitate a little as the big turbo picked up momentum. Not anymore, the 2 are much more in sync with each other.

I can't comment on EGT's, I'll try to look today

EGT's don't seem to be a concern to me. They might rise quicker, can't tell you that but as far as peak there is no issue. On the daily driver tune that runs 12.3's I am just easing past 1100F at 90mph. Might hit 1150 by 110mph. No real heat change for me.

Definitely hits harder and runs better from a roll. smoke clears up very quick if you jump off in it. :thumb:

So is this the 366/480 set up Russ?
And now the 480 is a 1.10AR, and used to be a 1.32AR?

And is the 66 a billet comp with a .90AR ?

The small turbo in his setup was an S300 with a 64.5 mm FMW (billet) compressor and a 70 mm turbine in a .90 T4 turbine housing. The S400 had an 80 mm Batmo Wheel with a race cover and a 96 mm turbine that he changed from a 1.32 T6 housing to a 1.10 T6 housing.
