So cal
Hard to start after truck is warmed up
I have a 2003 chevy 2500hd diesel 4x4
Truck runs great, no smoke, ideals smooth but... Just lately when I come out it the morning the truck starts right up but... When the truck gets warmed up it will not start up it just cranks and cranks. I changed the fuel filter and the airfilter., my poor Chevy is un reliable now and I can not go out to the desert
Any ideas what it might be ??
O and the truck has 53000 miles on it no accidents never had no other problems with this truck ever since I bought it new just changed the oil and airfilter and full lube
I did change the glow plugs and the fuel filter since the problem started

Anyone else have these problems before? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Your not building enough rail pressure to make your injectors fire. Had a truck do the same exact thing. Injectors been replaced?

Oh okay...EFILive is tuning software that you buy and load onto your laptop that allows you to alter engine parameters as well as log a desired amount and type of engine functions into a recorded snippet of what the engine is doing.

A TechII is a very expensive but very useful tool that dealerships use and has pretty much unlimited access to the engine electronics and can do damn near anything you want but...it's between $3-4k and can't be used to tune a truck and EFI is $799 and can tune a truck so needless to say I chose EFI

I'm in Torrance, if anyone knows any shops around here that actually knows what they
what they are doing please post I wanna get this thing fixed I told the last guy it has to be the injectors and he replaced the glow plugs. I really wish I had the time to work on this stuff myself like in the good ol days when I had no priorities..

Well i understand about the tech 2 vs the efi live but i paid a local guy to put efi live in my truck he programed it with a laptop but i didnt get any program to keep and load into my laptop or anything.I see these hand held efi live programers, what are they then? Also the guy didnt even do anything custom he just loaded the program copy of ppe hot +2 in my truck, does that mean i have to pay for it again if i go to have a good tuner tune my truck?

Also i didnt mean to:threadjacked:

How long did the truck sit from last time you started it? If a while, the fuel could be bad, and the new filter just plugged back up again. Also could be air leak in the system somewhere...probably fuel filter head or maybe the filter isnt sealing well. Those are cheap checks to do first.

Blk smoke....thats not kosher.

O well dropped it off at the shop and truck gets driven every day for about 4 miles and about 120 miles every other weekend
have banks 6 gun bundle with speedloader chip too wife was racing some vet few weeks ago and she left it on setting 6 I sure hope that does t have anything to do with it..
I'm sure it's that rail pressure though.
