So upon doing more reasearch seems like the service trailer brake light now has to do with the tcm. If the tcm is bad would that give me the u0100 code for no communcation with ecm also? The fact that im getting both u0100 and u0101 is whats goofy.

check the wiring at the glow plug control module. the ecm, tcm and gpcm are all on the high speed bus. if wires got shorted at the gpcm it would not communicate

Turbo, cp3, injectors, 8 new glow plugs. Glow plug module was taken out, tried reseating all glow plug module connections.

I already have the stock tcm file, it was flashed with Ppei tune over a year ago.

Ground the case on the Tcm? Seen it before

Can you explain more? What could I have done to do this? I was putting new radiator pipe in trying to line it up with forward facing t stat housing and could have easily touched tcm and t stat housing with that pipe

next thing to do is check the powers and grounds at the tcm and ecm connectors so you can figure out if you have a power problem or communication problem. also try disconnecting the tcm and see if communication come back with ecm

Tried disconnecting tcm and still wouldn’t crank. I guess I didn’t try to flash ecu at that point to see if I had communication.

If I touched that coolant pipe to motor and tcm would that have ruined the tcm?

Try reflashing the TCM and the ecm. If you damaged either one of those they likely won't accept the tune.

you need to check communication with a scam tool with the tcm unplugged. truck will not start with tcm unplugged. I cant say that grounding the tcm case will not hurt it but I have don't it a dozen plus time with no issue. again not saying it cant happen

I was saying to ground the Tcm case. Take a jumper wire from the Tcm fins to a good ground.

Ok I will check tomorrow. And if I have power to tcm and still won’t communicate I have a bad tcm which would cause ecu not to connect as well?

if the tcm shorted internally it could drag down the communication line. but the only way to be sure is to check powers, grounds, igntion voltage at tcm. if all there then leave it unplugged and try to use a scan tool to talk to ecm. if you can talk to ecm with tcm unplugged the tcm died
