This was my setup on the ‘04. I used to run the Super Diesel lift pump and added the CAT filter to get rid of the factory one. Then I just left it when I upgraded to the air dog.

Looks goofy. But can't argue with it's effectiveness
It’s a weird pic. Trailer looks like it’s nose down, but I promise it’s a little high. I had to put 2” lift blocks on it to make the goosebox work and get everything closer to level.

How close is the trailer to the rear of the bed? Looks like there's no room to turn without hitting

At the closest I have 6” of clearance. I made sure I double and triple checked the clearance when I built it. I took the truck past 90* and was going to get a pic, but got distracted by another issue which was the cord getting pulled tight. I had it in the bumper pull plug and not the gooseneck plug. Only for less cord dragging on the deck. Oops.

To minimize coil on the deck https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08V1X5VZ8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 put the plug on the camper up where the pin box connects to the trailer. When you get to the destination, unplug and store in either the truck or front compartment.

Does this count for the towing pictures thread? Not really towing, but there is still vehicle-on-vehicle action!
Rotary Abuse.jpg

I finally got myself a lift (Rotary SPO12 Wide), and obviously wanted to test it. That combo is about 11.5k lbs, and it handled it like a champ. Now all I need to do is wire in the electrical so I can use it without a generator 😅

Looks like an older Mohawk? My dad has one and they're solid.

Yea it’s a Mohawk System 1A 9000lb, but I think it’s actually relatively newer, as it’s got the 2 lines and the reinforcement rib half way up the column that’s identical to the present day 10k. I sent them an email with the serial number, waiting on a response for the mfg date.

I had two older Mohawks that I sold this year, one was a 1986 or 87 Mohawk 9k with the single hydraulic line. The other was a 12k, also from the 80’s.

That’s one nice thing about living in the desert, no rust. We had the frame sandblasted on the truck we are building, and just rattle canned it with Summit chassis paint and it looked brand new. Check out the date stamp.

Love the way it looks and rides, but absolutely ruined it as far as towing thru the hills with the 35’s.

What do you not like about towing with 35s? Is it the effectively taller gearing making power delivery worse or hunt for gears more? Or does it feel less stable with the taller tires?

Just curious because I've been towing with 35s for so long I've probably forgotten what a stock truck is like

It’s mainly the gearing, the speeds I run at pretty much render 6th gear useless, and the rest of the times it seems just a few hundred rpm under the power band.. I’m putting 4.56’s in soon with compound turbos. Should make it better.

Steel wheel adapters, load range f Toyos and a Kodiak fan clutch isn’t helping power any either.

4:30 will probably be a better match then 4:56. But 4:56 will work well too. That's what I'm running and it's not too bad. Little high on cruising RPM but I'm running slightly smaller tires then you
