Having similar issue

Hi All,

I am having a similar overheating issue, lines to and from external cooler are cold to touch, but do not get hot once I pull over and put in park or neutral.

Have a DMax with Allison 6sp.

Mike, or anyone know a good trans place in the Chicago area?

hi guys i have a 2005 gmc 2500hd 6.6l duramax allison trans. my tranny dont heat up while normal driving but put my trailer 6800lbs going up steep hills slow not a running start and you accelerate to get up to speed overdrive kicks in it hits 2000rpms kicks out and slows down and wont go over 200rpms and no passing gear to pick up speed but i can pick up speed slowly it is all stock and tranny fluid good after it cools down a good while it will go over 2000 rpms and passing gear works

Start with a new fuel filter-!! Yes, the fuel filter will affect the trans operation.:cool2:
